The journey of Ms. Mai Anh and her adopted son - Thien Nhan - together overcoming many pains and difficulties to give him a complete life has moved many people.
Specifically, in 2006, Ms. Tran Thi Mai Anh adopted Thien Nhan - a boy who was abandoned in a banana garden, whose genitals were eaten by wild animals. Not wanting her son to live the rest of his life in a state of deprivation, Ms. Mai Anh worked hard for more than a decade, traveling with him across continents to find a way to give him a full life.
Artists participating in the musical "The Five-Colored Stone" debuted to the audience.
With the desire to recreate the journey of finding joy in life of "tin soldier" Thien Nhan, the Youth Theater and Thien Nhan & Friends Fund decided to stage the musical The Five-Colored Stone .
In the musical, the character Mai always holds tightly to the five-colored stone – a symbol of belief in miracles – throughout her life, and from there, not only creates her own fairy tale for Thien Nhan. The miracle from Thien Nhan’s story has brought hope and changed the lives of many other children.
The musical recreates the journey of the boy Thien Nhan.
The musical includes many scenes such as "Don't Be Afraid, My Heart Without Borders", "Green Dreams", "Fragrant Heart", "Borderless Heart", "Green Dreams", "Fragrant Heart"... combined with modern music played live by the young band Chicktown throughout the play, bringing many meaningful messages about faith, love and hope.
For Tuoi Tre Theater, this is the next effort in staging Pure Vietnamese musicals - a musical genre created, staged and performed by Vietnamese people with content built from Vietnamese stories.
Throughout the musical is a message of faith and love.
Director Cao Ngoc Anh shared: “The young actors have been carefully selected due to the difficult factors of the current Contemporary Musical Theatre genre. They must have the ability to perform “3 in 1”: dancing, acting and singing.
But with these efforts, we hope that in the near future, Thuan Viet Musical can bring Vietnamese stories and perform Vietnamese works to spread to the world audience community."
A portion of the musical's proceeds will be donated to the "Thien Nhan & Friends" fund.
Through the musical, the artists and Thien Nhan & Friends fund hope to spread faith in goodness and in miracles created by human faith.
A portion of the musical's proceeds will be donated to the fund's operations in November 2023, where many children's lives will continue to be changed by the hands of loving doctors.
