Rapper Tez: Living green isn't just about chanting slogans.

On the evening of November 16th, rapper Tez will bring that edgy vibe to the closing ceremony of the Vietnam Green Day 2025 at the Youth Cultural Center, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. Tez is expected to perform two songs: "Enjoy This Moment" and "When the Dream Gradually Fades."

"These songs boost hope and motivation, showing that people, if they want to, always have the right to choose to become a better version of themselves," Tez said.

Becoming a better version of himself is the path Tez has chosen. "I want the audience to remember Tez not just as 'a good rapper,' but as a true performer. I want people to see a newer version of myself every time I step onto the stage. The 'Brother Says Hi' program has given me the opportunity to gradually realize that goal," Tez shared.

And to be able to pursue that path, Tez prepared everything, but most importantly, mentally. Because while people see his confidence on stage, Tez actually has a fear of... crowds.

"I want to step onto the stage not with the mindset of 'how am I going to perform now?' or 'how am I going to interact with the audience?' but as Tez, who 'knows who he is and what he wants.' Dancing is indeed difficult for me. But it's precisely because it's difficult that I enjoy it. A rapper who just stands on stage and raps is just like most rappers. I want to challenge myself to be more unique and different," Tez said.

Tez's farewell to his older brother in episode 8 left many of his fellow contestants and viewers feeling regretful. His teammate Gill choked up as he said, "Tez, wait for me to come home for dinner."

Tez, still smiling, said, "Stopping here doesn't mean it's a failure. It's just a part of the journey to move on to new chapters, to becoming a better person. Everything here gives me more perspective, lessons, and motivation to make music that truly reflects my own style."

Tez, whose real name is Nguyen Dinh Duong, was born in 2001. He studied IT at two universities, Aptech Polytechnic University and Electric Power University, before becoming known as a famous rapper through two seasons of Rap Viet and most recently, Anh trai say hi (season 2).

Tez asserts that rap always originates from life. Life has a two-way influence: life provides him with material for his writing, while music helps reshape his own thinking and emotions. Tez shares that his songwriting style is always "authentic," while still aiming for trendy content. "I tell stories about my experiences, but I tell them in beautiful words that resonate more with the listener," he shared.

Speaking about green living, Tez said that green living isn't about chanting slogans. It starts with small habits: not wasting resources, reducing unnecessary consumption, and appreciating the resources we use.

When asked if he would write a song encouraging people to live green, Tez happily said that if he did, it would be a song that wouldn't be a "lesson" but would make listeners want to change their way of life themselves.
