According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, from Hamlet 3, Dak Nia Commune, her family planted nearly one sao (approximately 1000 square meters) of cucumbers for sale during Tet (Lunar New Year). Unlike previous years, this year the frost and strong winds resulted in fewer fruits. Therefore, she has raised the selling price, but still doesn't have enough to sell, and many customers inquire but she doesn't have enough to supply them.

Accordingly, Ms. Tuyet sold cucumbers at prices 3-4 times higher than usual and double the price compared to last year's Tet holiday. On the afternoon of the 28th day of the lunar month, Ms. Tuyet sold cucumbers for 50,000 VND/kg.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich from Nghia Phu ward, her family grows bitter melon for daily sale. However, this Tet season was a failure due to frost and strong winds. The selling price is 75,000 VND/kg, 2-3 times higher than usual, but she still doesn't have enough to sell.

According to our research, garden owners and small traders all said that this year the prices of other vegetables and root crops are basically stable compared to last year, with no price increase compared to normal days. Cucumbers and bitter melons are the two fresh fruits that have seen the highest price increase.
