However, that absence does not equate to indifference. At least, according to Fernando Gomes, President of the Portuguese Football Federation. He called the wave of criticism directed at Ronaldo a "huge injustice," and emphasized that CR7 is "extremely close to Diogo Jota and his family."

“Cristiano always shows deep sensitivity in situations like this, even when he’s not directly present,” Gomes shared. He also added that Ronaldo had sent his condolences privately to Jota’s family, and that “what happened afterward was just fabricated by outsiders.”

In a world where social media is increasingly becoming a moral judgment floor, Ronaldo – with his global influence – is frequently portrayed as a figure representing all that is right. Not attending a funeral? Instantly labeled cold and inhuman. Wearing a black suit and shedding tears? Praised as a symbol of humanity. The problem is, no matter which approach he takes, Ronaldo is always judged.
