In Christian Falk's book "Transfer Insider," published by Bild , Ronaldo's former agent, Jorge Mendes, actively recommended the 40-year-old star to Bayern's management.
"Super agent" Mendes has prepared a special profile highlighting the benefits CR7 can bring, including media coverage, commercialization, and global influence.
Oliver Kahn, Bayern's CEO at the time, acknowledged that discussions had taken place. Besides Bayern, Dortmund also received a similar offer. However, both German clubs decided against pursuing the deal.

Bayern are seriously considering signing Ronaldo, but are concerned that the dressing room will be affected by CR7's arrival. Bayern's management believes that Ronaldo's star status could cause disruptions within the team and create an imbalance in salaries.
Robert Lewandowski, Bayern's highest-paid player at the time, only earned around 24 million euros per year, while Ronaldo had earned around 29 million euros at Manchester United and was reportedly hoping for a similar salary at the Allianz Arena.
Dortmund made a similar decision to Bayern, arguing that the commercial benefits Mendes promised were not enough to offset the sporting and financial risks. The stance of both clubs shows that top European teams are not willing to sacrifice club unity and long-term balance for the sake of a single star.
With no offers from Europe, Ronaldo's final chapter at Manchester United ended abruptly in November 2022 following a conflict with Erik ten Hag. The Portuguese striker decided to join Al Nassr in January 2023 for a salary of up to €200 million per year, including salary and advertising deals.
