After failing to score in the opening draw against the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ronaldo needed only 6 minutes to find the net against Uzbekistan in the match played in Houston (USA) on the morning of June 24th (Vietnam time).

The Portuguese captain continued his brilliant form with a brace in the 39th minute to give the European Selecao a 3-0 lead over the Asian representatives, after Nuno Mendes had previously given Roberto Martinez's side a 2-0 lead with a goal in the 17th minute.
Portugal continued their dominance in the second half, scoring two more goals to seal a resounding 5-0 victory, temporarily taking the lead in Group K and opening up a strong chance of qualifying for the Round of 32.
Notably, with his brace against Uzbekistan, Ronaldo became the first player to score in six different World Cups , a feat even Lionel Messi hasn't achieved and is unlikely to accomplish, as the Argentine superstar officially turns 39 today (June 24th).
According to statistics, CR7 has scored in the 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022, and 2026 World Cups, while Messi, despite also participating in 6 World Cups like Ronaldo, failed to score any goals in the 2010 World Cup.

Notably, his two most recent goals helped Ronaldo end a 10-match goalless streak in major tournaments (World Cup and Euro). The last time the 41-year-old striker scored in a World Cup was Portugal's opening goal against Ghana at the 2022 World Cup.
The striker, born in 1985, has now scored 10 goals in 24 World Cup appearances. This makes him Portugal's all-time leading scorer in the World Cup, surpassing the legendary Eusebio.
This achievement also officially places the 41-year-old superstar in the top 10 of World Cup goalscorers in history, alongside legends such as Thomas Müller, Gary Lineker, Gabriel Batistuta, Grzegorz Lato, Teofilo Cubillas, and Helmut Rahn, while further extending his impressive collection of records in the most prestigious tournament on the planet.
Currently, Ronaldo is also the second oldest goalscorer in World Cup history (41 years, 138 days), second only to Roger Milla in 1994 when he scored for Cameroon against Russia (42 years, 39 days).
This could be Ronaldo's last World Cup, after a glorious career that included winning the European Championship with Portugal in 2016 and five Champions League titles with Manchester United and Real Madrid.
