The Colors of Ta Pa

With the stunning color palette of nature in every subtle shade, bathed in golden sunlight, Ta Pa, An Giang, creates a truly peaceful picture in these mid-December days.

Located at the foot of Ta Pa and Co To mountains, about 1km from Tri Ton town, the Ta Pa rice fields are a stunning and proud landmark of An Giang province, considered the only terraced rice fields in the Mekong Delta. While it has received much praise, perhaps the ethereal tranquility in the morning light or the poetic sunsets must be experienced firsthand to truly appreciate these peaceful moments.

Bring your gaze closer, towards the rice paddies bathed in golden sunlight like poured honey, to truly appreciate the simplicity and genuineness of the local people and their unique and fascinating practice of communal farming. Farmers gather to plow and cultivate together in designated areas, moving from one field to another.

During harvest season, the entire field transforms into a picturesque landscape adorned with vibrant, poetic colors. Some patches are a boundless expanse of lush green, others a soft yellow blending with the setting sun, and still others a deep golden hue of ripening rice stalks awaiting harvest.

There are also patches of dark brown, bare rice stalks, all blending together to create a romantic and vibrant picture.

The autumn scene unfolds with the romantic charm of a glorious sunset through the skillful lens of photographer Cao Ky Nhan.

Ta Pa rice fields are considered the most unique rice fields in the Mekong Delta, thanks to the Khmer people's tradition of "communal farming." Late November and early December each year is the ideal time for tourists to experience and explore the beauty of this place.

Across the fields, glimpses of farmers returning from work can be seen. These people appear so beautiful and worthy of respect – diligent farmers producing pristine white rice, toiling under the sun and rain day after day, yet always optimistic and full of life. The simple charm of these farmers, with their hands and feet stained with mud, adds beauty and vibrancy to the rural landscape.

On the mountain is Ta Pa Pagoda, one of the popular tourist attractions in this area. This Khmer Buddhist pagoda is located near the mountaintop, offering a peaceful atmosphere and panoramic views of the rice fields below.
