Painter Quynh Thom was born in 1971 in Tuan Chinh commune, Vinh Tuong district, Vinh Phuc province. He was a student of the Graphic Arts Department, Vinh Phu Provincial College of Culture and Arts from 1988-1991, then continued to study at the Central University of Fine Arts Education (Hanoi).

Having worked in the field of graphic design for a long time, Quynh Thom still nurtures his passion for creation with a quiet, humble spirit. He has been continuously holding a paintbrush for about 5 years now and has participated in many art exhibitions in Vinh Phuc, Hanoi ...

Artist Quynh Thom's works are diverse in subject matter and genre, and are highly appreciated by experts. Not only is he passionate about painting, he is also always concerned, exploring , and deepening the values in daily life.

In each work, the artist has a harmonious combination of the rustic beauty of nature with deep inner emotions, expressed through delicate lines, colors and shapes. His paintings mainly focus on landscapes, filled with bright and attractive colors.

The simple countryside in Quynh Thom's paintings.

In the world of painting, Quynh Thom seems to whisper stories, confide, slowly express her perspective on life, emotions and thoughts to guide people to peace and serenity.

The diverse colors and lines also mark the desire and wish to find beauty in every smallest detail, enriching the spiritual life for oneself, for others, for life...

Painter Quynh Thom - the one who is always devoted to "Countryside Colors".

This is the second time the artist has exhibited "Countryside Colors", as a journey back to the roots. The simple, pure space of the countryside helps the public understand more deeply the aesthetic and spiritual values that Quynh Thom wants to convey through each work.

The colors are vibrant and nostalgic.

Touching "Countryside Colors", the audience is touched by a vivid reflection. When the artist uses bright colors such as the warm yellow of the sun, or the multi-tone greens of trees, grass, rivers, lakes... the quietness of the space awakens memories of the past, of cultural values that have been hidden and faded somewhere.

Painter Quynh Thom always combines traditional beauty and modern style. He does not simply "capture" the scene but also adds in unique details, shapes, sometimes abstract lines, creating interesting innovations. This way of expression also makes what seems familiar to be seen through a new, more vibrant and suggestive lens.

Proactive in materials and techniques... but painter Quynh Thom still yearns for identity. He still retains the most tranquil and characteristic things of the countryside, from the roofs, the fields, the roads, the simple and poetic little corners...

To achieve that, there is nothing other than the artist's deep love for his homeland and country. This is a prominent source of emotion, becoming a natural thing in the artistic space as well as the person of Quynh Thom.

Each work contains respect and pride for the values that have nurtured and comforted us since childhood.

The combination of music and painting.

"Countryside colors" therefore also represent the soul, the shape of memories - spiritual values that are deeply imprinted in the soul of every person despite the changes of time. "Countryside colors" is also a reminder for people to cherish, preserve national cultural values and develop those values in the new era.

The public is looking forward to seeing the beauty of the countryside.

Sharing the reason for always being passionate about the beauty of the countryside, artist Quynh Thom believes that art, for him, is a path to convey the profound values of life. Being protected and loved by his homeland, then witnessing the changes through each season, each constant fluctuation... the artist wants to extend the endless source of inspiration whether the memories or details are still preserved or changed.

Through each painting, the artist conveys his feelings with nostalgia, longing, anticipation, and sometimes regret. Above all, to him, each work is like a simple yet profound tribute to memories and people.

The visitor from Australia decided to buy the painting that impressed him.

Commenting on Quynh Thom's paintings, artist Do Ngoc Dung called him "the one who anchors the soul of the countryside": Village ponds, green bamboo groves, golden rice fields, bamboo clumps, banana bushes, or village roads... in many rural areas are gradually being filled by the speed of urbanization.

The strong development of the market economy has unintentionally destroyed the poetic beauty of many Vietnamese countrysides. Painter Quynh Thom is like an awakening of strong emotions about the "countryside soul" that makes viewers relive their childhood memories, in the peaceful countryside when admiring his works.

When life is too busy with the present, bustling with the daily hustle and bustle of making a living, the colorful patches in that lively space of the countryside fill our vision, making our souls more cool, pure and kind. That is the message that Quynh Thom brings to the audience with her talent and passion.

Artist Do Ngoc Dung

According to artist Do Ngoc Dung, this exhibition, artist Quynh Thom "distilled" more carefully, more refined, more professional. With only 69 works. But certainly will win more sympathy from viewers and collectors.

On this occasion, painter Quynh Thom was honored to receive the Commemorative Medal for the Cause of Vietnamese Fine Arts from the Vietnam Fine Arts Association in recognition of her tireless dedication.

On the eve of the opening of the exhibition in Hanoi, an interesting story surprised the artist: An Australian tourist was fascinated by one of Quynh Thom’s paintings and decided to buy it right before the exhibition officially began. This not only reflects the strong attraction of Vietnamese art to international visitors but also proves the power of inspiration from Vietnamese cultural values through paintings.

Although they do not fully understand the story behind the work, foreign tourists are always fascinated by the simple yet emotional beauty that the artist has conveyed through colors and lines, making them feel like they are standing right in front of the field, watching the buffaloes and cows leisurely walking in the countryside.

The exhibition will be open until December 2.
