According to Android Authority, the current Galaxy S24 series is promised by Samsung to provide an impressive 7 years of security operating system updates, in line with Google's commitment to the Pixel 8 series. However, the Korean company's latest efforts will extend this support period, at least for those who own the business versions of the latest Galaxy tablet models.
Confirmed by Samsung's Benelux representative Andy Rottiers on LinkedIn when he said the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition tablet will receive 8 years of updates. An image uploaded by Rottiers confirms its commitment to providing eight operating system updates for the device. That means Samsung's tablet will theoretically get Android 8.
This policy is considered a major improvement over the Korean company's initial update commitment for business tablets. Initially, Samsung announced that the standard version of this tablet model would receive 4 years of operating system updates and 5 years of security updates.
It is known that Galaxy Tab Active 5 is an interesting tablet model in both business and standard versions. They are equipped with mid-range specifications such as Exynos 1380 chip, 8,8 inch 120 Hz TFT screen and other outstanding features such as removable battery, 3,5 mm audio port, card support. microSD memory, replaceable hardware buttons and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
