In the early hours of January 23rd, Sancho's solitary goal helped Aston Villa defeat Fenerbahce 1-0 in Istanbul, securing their place in the Europa League Round of 16.
In the 25th minute of the match, Sancho shone with an improvised yet precise header, giving the English side the opening goal. This was also the first goal for the Manchester United star since joining Aston Villa on loan, and it came at a crucial moment for him personally.
The last time Sancho scored in European competition, he lifted a trophy when Chelsea beat Real Betis 4-1 in the Europa Conference League final.
The goal in Istanbul also made Sancho the second English player to score for four different clubs in European cup competitions, including Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Chelsea and Aston Villa, second only to Peter Crouch.

Furthermore, Sancho is among the rare English players who have scored in European competitions for eight consecutive seasons since 2018/19, matching the likes of Harry Kane and Phil Foden.
At 25, Sancho has been enjoying a quiet period in the Premier League, having only started two games this season for Aston Villa. However, his moment of brilliance against Fenerbahce could be a crucial turning point, opening up hope for a career revival and rediscovering the form that once captivated European football.
