Early morning is cold below 20 degrees Celsius, day has high UV index

(NLDO) - Ho Chi Minh City's weather today continues to cool down, with the lowest temperature reaching 19 degrees Celsius in the early morning. However, the UV index remains at a dangerously high level towards noon and afternoon.


According to the Southern Vietnam Regional Hydrometeorological Station, today, January 13th, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and Southern Vietnam will be mostly cloudy with sunny days and no rain at night. Nighttime and early morning temperatures will continue to drop slightly. It will be cool in the early morning, with temperatures below 20 degrees Celsius in some areas.

Specifically, temperatures in Ho Chi Minh City range from a low of 19 degrees Celsius to a high of 30 degrees Celsius.

Today, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City continues to cool down.

Although temperatures have dropped, between 10 AM and nearly 2 PM, the UV index in the districts and counties remains at a harmful level ranging from high to very high (levels 6-8). Therefore, people should prepare thoroughly before going outside by using sun protection measures such as wearing UV-protective jackets, wide-brimmed hats for protection, sunglasses to protect their eyes, and applying sunscreen with an SPF appropriate for the weather conditions.

Meanwhile, in other provinces and cities in Southern Vietnam, the lowest temperatures are in the Eastern region from 18-20 degrees Celsius, with some areas in the North of the Eastern region below 18 degrees Celsius, Vung Tau from 22-23 degrees Celsius; in the Western region from 19-22 degrees Celsius, with some areas below 19 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the highest temperatures are forecast to be between 29-32 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 32 degrees Celsius.

The Southern Vietnam Regional Hydrometeorological Station also forecasts that the weather in the sea area from Binh Dinh to Ca Mau today will have strong northeasterly winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to levels 8-9, rough seas, with waves 3-6m high; the wind will gradually decrease during the day.

All vessels operating in these areas are at high risk of being affected by cyclones, strong winds, and high waves.

The weather pattern shows a decrease in temperature across the region.

Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern region are affected by a weakening continental cold high-pressure system. At higher altitudes, the subtropical high-pressure system over the Central region remains stable. Northeast winds continue to maintain strong intensity.
