Early morning cold below 20 degrees Celsius, day with high UV index

(NLDO) - The weather in Ho Chi Minh City today continues to cool down, in the early morning the lowest temperature is 19 degrees Celsius. However, in the afternoon the UV index is still at a high harmful level.


According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, today, January 13, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and the South is mainly cloudy, sunny during the day, no rain at night. Night and early morning temperatures continue to decrease slightly. Early mornings are chilly, with some places below 20 degrees Celsius.

Specifically, the temperature in Ho Chi Minh City fluctuates from the lowest at 19 degrees Celsius to the highest at 30 degrees Celsius.

Today, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City continues to cool down.

Although the temperature has decreased, from 10am to nearly 2pm, the UV index (ultraviolet rays) in districts and counties is still at a harmful level from high to very high (level 6-8). Therefore, people should prepare carefully before going out by using sun protection measures such as wearing UV-resistant jackets, wearing wide-brimmed hats to shield, wearing sunglasses to protect the eyes and applying sunscreen with an SPF index appropriate to the weather conditions.

In other provinces and cities in the South, the lowest temperature in the Eastern region is from 18-20 degrees Celsius, in the North Eastern region, some places are below 18 degrees Celsius, Vung Tau is from 22-23 degrees Celsius; in the West, it is from 19-22 degrees Celsius, some places are below 19 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the highest temperature is forecasted to be from 29-32 degrees Celsius, with some places above 32 degrees Celsius.

The Southern Hydrometeorological Station also forecasts that the sea area from Binh Dinh to Ca Mau today will have strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, waves 3-6m high; the wind will gradually decrease during the day.

All vessels operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by cyclones, strong winds and large waves.

Weather patterns cool down in the area

Ho Chi Minh City and the South are affected by the weather pattern of weakened continental cold high pressure. Above, the subtropical high pressure over the Central region is stable. The Northeast wind still maintains its strong intensity.
