Ms. Le Thi Huong is a Vietnamese language teacher at the secondary school level. After the merger with the primary school to form the No. 2 Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School in Quan Ho Than commune, Ms. Huong and her colleagues proactively arranged their time to attend lessons taught by their primary school colleagues to adapt to the new work. Ms. Huong shared: “Through observing lessons, we can understand the students' situation, their abilities, and their levels. From there, teachers at both levels can adjust their teaching methods and techniques to be more appropriate and relevant to reality, helping students understand and grasp the lessons more quickly.”

The merger into a multi-level school has helped Quan Ho Than No. 2 Semi-boarding Ethnic Minority Primary and Secondary School fundamentally address the difficulties regarding the teaching staff, especially for specialized subjects. At the same time, it effectively utilizes facilities and equipment to improve the quality of education .
Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh, Principal of the No. 2 Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School in Quan Ho Than commune, Si Ma Cai district, said: “In the 2024-2025 school year, the school had 38 students who achieved excellent student status at the district level. Notably, this school year, we had 2 students who achieved excellent student status at the provincial level in grade 9. The overall quality of education at the school remains strong, meeting the criteria for a national standard school.”
The quality of education has been maintained after the school merger.
In 2024, Si Ma Cai district merged eight schools into one kindergarten and three combined primary and secondary schools. The schools' operations have stabilized, and the quality of education at these schools has improved since the beginning of the year.
Mr. Pham Van Tiep, Deputy Head of the Education and Training Department of Si Ma Cai district, emphasized: "Schools have grasped the psychology of both teachers and students, organizing workshops to connect primary and secondary schools to foster collaboration, unity, professional exchange, and guidance in teaching to help primary school students adapt to secondary school."

Proactive review, reorganization, and merger of schools are being implemented to carry out Resolution 18 of the Central Committee. Practical experience in localities throughout the province shows that mergers have yielded tangible results. Schools have reduced administrative layers, leading to a streamlined workforce of administrators, teachers, and staff. These are key factors in comprehensively improving the quality of education in the new era.
