On September 19th, several students from the Vinh Long Sports and Physical Education Gifted School ate noodle soup at a restaurant near the school. Afterwards, seven students showed symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea and were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Upon receiving the information, the Vinh Long Provincial Department of Health directed the Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Department to verify the incident and take samples of the food that the students had eaten for testing.
According to Mr. Toan, by this morning, the children's health had stabilized, and the hospital was taking blood and urine samples to determine the cause. Following the incident, authorities arrived to document the event and investigate the suspected food poisoning.
Mr. Toan said that most of these students eat at the school canteen and live on campus.
