Unable to advance further in the tournament after a 0-1 defeat against the Water Resources University, and forced to exit early in the northern regional qualifying round of the 2nd Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament - 2024 THACO Cup, is a regrettable outcome for the team and coaches of Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports.

Team leader Nguyen Duc Anh said: "It's sad, of course it is, because everyone wants to win when competing. But the important thing is that we've been able to return and participate in a tournament that's rightfully ours as students. Society is developing, and so is football. There are more opportunities for students, and we've had more experiences. Thank you to Thanh Nien Newspaper for giving us the chance to return to the student tournament after many years of not participating. This year's competition may not be as we hoped, but as long as we have the approval, we will return."

Mr. Nguyen Duc Anh affirmed that the recent matches at the Thuy Loi University stadium were truly meaningful. He shared: "My students and I were moved to tears, deeply touched, when we attended the very solemn opening ceremony of the northern regional qualifiers, and immersed ourselves in the fiery matches of 11-a-side student football, something we haven't had the opportunity to do for so long. We are extremely happy to return to this exciting arena. A tournament organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper and the VFF has brought so much joy to school football."

Coach Nguyen Cong Huy of the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering team said: "Our team apologizes to everyone, and to the organizing committee for giving us the opportunity to return to the 11-a-side tournament, but our performance this time wasn't good. We lost both matches and had to stop early. But we are truly grateful and we told ourselves that Thanh Nien Newspaper has provided a spiritual treat, a lavish feast for student football, so we will have to try harder. We will try again, we will be more determined to live up to the expectations of the school, the organizing committee, and the fans. From the reality of this qualifying round, we know where we stand and will strengthen and improve. We will definitely prepare better so that in 2025 the team will make a stronger impression."

We've realized our weaknesses and what we need to invest in so that if we get the chance to return, we'll be stronger, make a more positive and worthy contribution to the tournament.
