Students from Thanh An Island travel to the mainland to take exams.
On the day of exam registration in Ho Chi Minh City, more than 142,000 candidates were present at 246 examination centers to check the information on their exam notification slips and to familiarize themselves with the exam regulations. According to the general guidelines of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, this year all examination centers encouraged candidates to bring a transparent plastic folder with no printed text or images on the outside to hold their citizen identification card, exam notification slip, and other necessary items.
The invigilators thoroughly briefed the candidates on the regulations, reminding them that mobile phones and high-tech devices are strictly prohibited in the examination area. Candidates who discover any errors regarding their name, date of birth, priority status, or priority area must immediately report them to the invigilators for timely correction; in case of loss of their citizen identification card or other necessary documents, they must immediately report it to the head of the examination center for consideration and handling.

Earlier that morning, 30 students from Thanh An Secondary and High School (Thanh An commune) traveled to the mainland to participate in the 2026 high school graduation exam. Throughout the three days of the exam, the students stayed at Binh Phuoc Primary School (Binh Khanh commune) and received support from the Binh Khanh commune People's Committee for food and accommodation. Thanh An Secondary and High School assigned five teachers to accompany them to manage, care for, encourage, and transport the students to the exam locations. The students will take the exam at two locations: An Nghia High School and Binh Khanh High School.
Also on the morning of June 10th, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 29, in coordination with the Con Dao Special Zone Police, conducted an inspection of security, safety, and fire prevention measures at the Vo Thi Sau High School examination site. During the inspection, the authorities comprehensively reviewed the security and order conditions inside and outside the examination site; checked the security and control plan for people and vehicles entering and exiting the examination area; and assessed the fire safety conditions in key areas serving the examination.
In 2026, Hanoi had over 129,000 candidates taking the exam (accounting for approximately 1/10 of the total number of candidates registered nationwide), an increase of more than 5,000 compared to the previous year, including nearly 7,900 independent candidates. The city had 222 examination centers with nearly 5,900 examination rooms; more than 18,500 officials, teachers, and staff were mobilized to supervise the exams. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training established 6 inspection teams to monitor the examination centers.
During the exam registration process on the afternoon of June 10th, invigilators specifically reminded candidates of the rule prohibiting mobile phones in the exam room and the arrival time at the exam site. Candidates arriving more than 15 minutes late after the start time will not be allowed to take the exam that session. Invigilators recommended that candidates survey the route beforehand, calculate travel time, and arrive at the exam site earlier than planned to avoid risks such as traffic congestion, bad weather, or unexpected incidents.
Providing maximum support to candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds.
At Nam Tra My Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School (Nam Tra My commune, Da Nang city), 92 students are taking the exam, of which 87 are ethnic minority students. According to Mr. Ho Minh Vuong, the school's Vice Principal, the school has intensified review sessions, organized sample exam practice, provided evening self-study guidance, and assigned teachers to be on duty to support candidates during the exam period.
Youth union members and teachers will also be stationed at the dormitory to provide psychological support and healthcare for the candidates. Meanwhile, Hope School (Ngu Hanh Son ward) has 34 students participating in the exam. These are orphaned students affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, coming from 15 provinces and cities. According to Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyen, Director of the Hope School project, thanks to early career guidance, most students have already determined their future paths after graduation, so they enter the exam with a relatively relaxed mindset.
In Dong Nai City, Tam Hiep ward has the most examination centers (9 centers) in the city. Around 2 PM on June 10th, it started raining, but candidates still arrived in large numbers to complete the registration procedures. Heavy rain is forecast for Dong Nai in the coming days. The Traffic Police Department of Dong Nai City has deployed forces to ensure traffic safety and is ready to assist those experiencing vehicle breakdowns, going to the wrong location, or being affected by bad weather.
The Dong Nai Department of Construction has implemented a program offering free bus tickets for candidates and teachers participating in the exam. On that day, two buses transported 76 candidates from Dak Lua Secondary and High School (Dak Lua commune) to the exam site at Doan Ket High School (Tan Phu ward). These candidates live in the buffer zone of Cat Tien National Park, and many of them are from ethnic minority groups.
In Lam Dong province, Ngo Quyen High School is the only examination center in Phu Quy Special Zone this year, with 13 examination rooms serving 275 high school students and 25 independent candidates. Notably, for the first time, Phu Quy Special Zone has arranged for on-site printing and copying of exam papers, enabling proactive security measures, shortening the time for transporting papers from the mainland to the island, and minimizing risks due to adverse weather conditions at sea.
