Italian number one Jannik Sinner continues to assert his dominance at the prestigious ATP Finals 2025. Not only did he brilliantly secure a dramatic victory against rival Carlos Alcaraz, but Sinner also officially broke a unique record in the tournament's history.
According to Opta , Sinner has become the first player in ATP Finals history to win consecutive years without losing a single set on his way to winning the tournament.
Earlier, Sinner's unbeaten record in a single set was nearly threatened when Alcaraz took a 6-5 lead in the first set.
The pressure was immense on the world number one, but he showed his mettle at the right moment to level the score at 6-6.
In the decisive tie-break, Sinner demonstrated his strength, winning 7-4 and breaking the Spanish player's serve twice.
Sinner seemed to lose his composure at the start of the second set, allowing Alcaraz to break him early in the first game. However, that advantage was quickly erased at 3-3 when Sinner broke back with a beautiful cross-court shot, bringing the match back to a tie.
Ultimately, Sinner maintained his excellent form, winning the overall competition and preserving his historic record.

As for Carlos Alcaraz and his team, it was a disappointing evening on a surface the player wanted to improve on before the new year.
Despite numerous successes on other surfaces, indoor hard courts remain an area where Alcaraz has yet to make significant progress. Notably, this is only his third indoor final in his peak career, following victories at the ATP Next Gen Finals four years ago and Rotterdam earlier this year.
Sinner's achievement further prolongs the wait for Spanish fans for the ATP Finals title. It has been 27 years since Alex Corretja's victory in 1998, and Spain has yet to have a player win this prestigious tournament.
