Son La: Support people to move out of dangerous areas due to prolonged heavy rain

In recent days, in Muong Chien and Chieng Mai communes, Son La province, there has been prolonged heavy rain, causing some locations to be at risk of landslides. In response to this situation, the police forces of the communes have mobilized officers, soldiers and local security forces to assist people in moving their belongings to safety.

On July 1 and 2, Muong Chien Commune Police mobilized officers, soldiers, security forces, local authorities, and people from Bon village, Muong Chien commune to support Mr. La Van Toan's family in promptly moving their house and property out of the area at risk of landslides.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hai Dang, Chief of Muong Chien Commune Police, said: Mr. Toan's family has few members, so moving his belongings is also difficult. The commune police, Party committee, government and other forces in the area quickly supported the family to ensure safety in the face of prolonged rain.

In Chieng Mai commune, officers and soldiers of the commune police, fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue forces, and local authorities supported the relocation of assets for affected families.

In Chieng Mai commune, heavy and prolonged rain also caused landslides, damaging the house of Mr. Lo Van Thien (born in 1960), and 4 other houses needed to be moved urgently.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thuy, Chief of Chieng Mai Commune Police, quickly informed: The commune police mobilized officers and soldiers to coordinate with 15 officers and soldiers of the fire prevention, firefighting and rescue force, Son La Provincial Police and local Party committees, authorities, and villagers to provide maximum support in terms of personnel to quickly move people and property of affected families to safety.

For the affected families, the Commune Police have advised the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of the commune to arrange temporary accommodation and support some essential material facilities.
