The exam questions are appropriate to the requirements and have profound educational value.

On the morning of June 1st, over 3,200 candidates in Dak Lak completed the Literature exam in the entrance examination for 10th grade in the 2026-2027 school year for 5 specialized high schools.

At the exam center at Nguyen Du Specialized High School (Tan An ward), Le Quynh Bao Tran, a 9th-grade student from Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary School in Quang Phu commune, and her group of friends looked confident as they left the exam room.

As a top student in Literature and the one who passed the entrance exam for the Literature specialized class at Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted, Bao Tran observed: "The exam questions were suitable for the academic level of the vast majority of students according to the new curriculum. I liked the social commentary section the most, which required candidates to argue based on real-life situations," Bao Tran said.

In general, candidate Nguyen Le My Kim - a 9th-grade student from Tay Nguyen Ethnic Boarding School (Thanh Nhat ward) - is confident with her work.

"Compared to exam questions from other provinces that I've seen, the Dak Lak exam still has its own unique appeal in requiring an argument about a decent way of life. I did quite well on the exam," My Kim said, expressing her hope to become a student at Nguyen Du Specialized High School.

Present at the examination site to encourage students, Mr. Ho Sy Ly, a Literature teacher at Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary School (Quang Phu commune), affirmed that the exam questions were good and appropriate to the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program as well as the sample questions sent earlier by the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training.

"As the country enters an era of progress, schools need to continue to leverage the advantages of their educational environment, instilling kindness in students and teaching them honesty. This year, the exam questions from Dak Lak are excellent and meaningful," said Mr. Ly.

Sharing the same view, Ms. Thuy Loan, a Literature teacher at Tan Loi Secondary School (Buon Ma Thuot ward), believes the exam questions are good and have profound educational value.

The exam questions are highly differentiated.

With over 30 years of teaching experience, including more than 15 years of preparing gifted students at all levels, teacher Ho Sy Ly assessed that this year's Literature exam in Dak Lak was not only well-designed but also showed a high degree of differentiation among students.

"The exam questions closely follow the curriculum and students' learning. At first glance, they seem 'easy,' but from a professional standpoint, the questions are deeply differentiating and clearly differentiate students. Only students who are academically strong and have a solid grasp of the curriculum will do well. If their knowledge is not solid and their approach lacks creativity, it will be very difficult to achieve high scores," Mr. Ly shared.

Adding further details, Ms. Thuy Loan, a Literature teacher at Tan Loi Secondary School (Buon Ma Thuot ward), said that students with a keen sense of literary appreciation score highly on question 1. Question 2, on the other hand, deals with familiar topics and incorporates Civic Education, so most students will write well on it.

"The questions are clear, specific, and not designed to trick students. Compared to the general standard in other provinces, this exam is good and appropriate. The reading comprehension material is up-to-date (2025), so it doesn't overlap with any material found on the internet," Ms. Thuy Loan analyzed.

The entrance exam for 10th grade in the 2026-2027 school year in Dak Lak is for 5 specialized high schools. The remaining public high schools will use a selection process.

According to statistics, the number of candidates registering to take the entrance exam at the 5 schools is as follows: Nguyen Du Specialized High School: 1,317 candidates; Luong Van Chanh Specialized High School: 928 candidates; N'Trang Long Ethnic Boarding High School: 463 candidates; Dam San Ethnic Boarding High School: 423 candidates; and Phu Yen Ethnic Boarding High School: 181 candidates.
