According to Neowin , fans of the popular game Starfield are about to welcome their biggest update ever. Following a series of stable updates before the holidays, Bethesda is preparing to bring Xbox and PC gamers a major update containing over 100 bug fixes and improvements on January 17th.
Revealed on the company's official social media channels, the upcoming update promises to remove all obstacles in the journey of exploring the universe. Issues hindering the main storyline, such as the inability to dock the Legacy ship, data malfunctions, or the mysterious temples that disappeared during the Into the Unknown mission, will be completely resolved.

Additionally, the environment in Starfield promises to be more visually stunning with graphical upgrades. Developers will improve stability and offer numerous graphical enhancements, from support for wider screens to improved textures, lighting, and shadows. Other bug fixes and improvements include the shape of the sun's disk, the shadow of the planetary ring, the reappearance of leveled objects when returning to an Outpost, the hatch being marked as inaccessible, and another fix for asteroids flying alongside the spacecraft.
The update will launch for Steam users via beta on January 17th, with the change information also available on that day. Two weeks later, the update will be rolled out to all players on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass.
Numerous other updates with features such as mod support, FSR 3 and XeSS, new movement mechanics, and more will also arrive in late 2024. Bethesda is also developing the game's first Shattered Space story expansion.
