Minister for Investment and Maritime Coordination Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said he encouraged state-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina to continue making good use of advanced technology to ensure the accurate distribution of subsidized gasoline. Those who are not eligible will not receive subsidized fuel.
Previously, Pertamina CEO Nicke Widyawati announced the use of AI to comprehensively manage business operations from upstream to downstream. AI is used to process and analyze data faster, enabling more accurate decision-making. With the help of advanced technology, Pertamina can process data from approximately 15 million subsidized fuel transactions per day.
According to Pertamina experts, the application of AI in processing transaction data from the Public Fueling Station (SPBU) system has significantly reduced operating costs and minimized discrepancies in the distribution of subsidized fuel.
Minister Panjaitan also went on to commend the use of digital technology , highlighting Indonesia's success in saving up to 3 trillion Rupiah by making the most of the government's e-Katalog digital procurement platform.
In addition to deploying AI to tighten controls on subsidized fuel, Minister Pandjaitan praised the Mineral and Coal Information System for Ministries/Agencies (Simbara) for helping the government increase revenue. By implementing an automated blocking system to settle debts, the government collected 1.1 trillion Rp (nearly 68 million USD) in state revenue.
According to the Indonesian minister, with all those benefits, the use of technology has significantly increased the efficiency of the state budget.
