Sun Group launches Sun World Sam Son in Thanh Hoa.

Sun Group has officially opened Sam Son Water Park, part of the nearly 6 trillion VND Sun World Sam Son entertainment complex in Thanh Hoa province, to visitors. Immediately after the opening ceremony on the afternoon of June 30th, nearly 4,000 visitors purchased tickets to enjoy the attractions at Sam Son Water Park.

Located in Quang Chau ward, Quang Tien commune, right on the Nam Song Ma boulevard – the gateway to Sam Son, about 13km from the center of Thanh Hoa city and only about 1.5km from Sam Son beach, Sun World Sam Son includes Sam Son Water Park and a theme park.

With a total area of ​​over 33.5 hectares and a total investment of nearly 6,000 billion VND, this is the 8th entertainment complex under the Sun World brand of Sun Group, and is the largest outdoor amusement park complex in terms of investment scale and area in the North Central region.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Thi – Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province emphasized: “With the launch of Sam Son Water Park, an outdoor entertainment complex with the largest investment scale and area in the North, where tourists can experience the first thrill slide in Asia, and exciting, fun games suitable for all ages… Sam Son tourism in particular and Thanh Hoa tourism in general have gained a new, impressive and high-class tourism product, an attractive destination that helps extend the length of stay of tourists, creating momentum for faster and stronger breakthroughs for Thanh Hoa tourism.”

Mr. Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group, shared: “The launch of Sun World Sam Son will create a foundation for the Sam Son entertainment and tourism industry to mark a strong development milestone. Sun World Sam Son Water Park boasts an impressive design inspired by folk tales.

Inspired by the folk tales of Vietnam's ethnic groups and utilizing traditional local materials such as bamboo, rattan, and thatched roofs, Sun World Sam Son creates a sense of familiarity while harmonizing with the modern architectural style of its amusement park complexes, supplied by ProSlide – a world-leading partner in providing equipment and water park slides.

In its initial launch phase, Sun World Sam Son introduced 9 out of the 14 water game complexes at Sam Son Water Park – the pioneering water park in Thanh Hoa to date. The games here are divided into three zones: Zone 1 for all ages; Zone 2 for families and children; and Zone 3 including thrill rides. After the opening, the remaining game complexes will continue to be completed and put into operation.

The highlight and unique feature of Sam Son Water Park, setting it apart from many other water parks, is the wave pool (Tsunami Bay), covering an area of ​​6,100 m2 with an artificial beach stretching 179m. This is the largest and most prominent attraction, designed with inspiration from the legend of Son Tinh and Thuy Tinh, offering exciting challenges in the blue sea. Meanwhile, the 550m-long lazy river surrounding the children's play area evokes the tranquil Do River of Sam Son, allowing visitors to drift along with relaxing and refreshing emotions like children.

In particular, Sam Son Water Park introduces pioneering rides in the Asia-Pacific region such as: KIDZ Adventure Tower and Kidz TornadoWAVE slides for children; Switchback TornadoWAVE slides for adults… Thrill rides like the Double TornadoWAVE 60 slide and BehemothBOWL 60 slide, which set the highest records in the Asia-Pacific, are challenging rides that keep players on the edge of their seats while also filling them with excitement.

Just about an hour after the opening ceremony, nearly 4,000 visitors had already purchased tickets to enjoy the fun and entertainment at Sam Son Water Park.

Many tourists who experienced the Sam Son water park on its opening day agreed that it is a new tourism product that creates a new attraction for Sam Son. The launch of the water park within the Sun World Sam Son complex is expected to be the next boost contributing to increasing the attractiveness of Sam Son tourism, extending the length of stay and increasing tourist spending, gradually turning Sam Son into a year-round destination and realizing the local goal of welcoming nearly 10 million visitors in the near future.

Ticket prices for Sam Son Water Park from July 1st to August 11th will be 350,000 VND/adult and 250,000 VND/child on weekdays; and 500,000 VND/adult and 400,000 VND/child on weekends. For residents of Thanh Hoa province, a special discount will apply, ranging from 250,000 – 400,000 VND/adult and 200,000 – 300,000 VND/child depending on weekdays (residents must bring their Citizen Identification Card or other identification documents to receive the discount). Monthly and annual passes are also offered with attractive discounts. The water park is open from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM daily.
