Temporarily stop receiving visitors at Hien Luong - Ben Hai relic site for upgrading

On August 23, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province announced that it will temporarily stop receiving visitors at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai special national relic site to serve the construction of the Thong Nhat Park project.

Accordingly, during the handover of the site and implementation of all items of the Thong Nhat Park project from August to December 31, 2025, the work of welcoming, explaining and guiding visitors at the special national monument of Hien Luong - Ben Hai will not meet service requirements.

To ensure the safety of visitors and complete the project on schedule, the Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Special Monument will temporarily close to visitors from August 23 until further notice.

The Management Board of the Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Special Relic Site said that the unit is still operating normally to carry out protection and cleaning work.

As reported by VNA, in December 2024, the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province (old) approved the Thong Nhat Park project at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Special Relic Site with a total investment of VND80 billion. The project includes items such as the restoration and renovation of the flagpole, Hien Luong Bridge, the complex, the office building of the Relic Management Board, and the north bank restroom, reception house, the south bank restroom, and other auxiliary items and temporary works.

For Hien Luong Bridge, the project will replace a part of the rusted and damaged iron and steel frame, replace the bridge surface wood with 50 mm thick ironwood, repair and reinforce the bridge abutments with carbon fiber panels...; at the same time, invest in specialized equipment to serve the cinema room, commentary and management work. The project is of great significance in preserving and promoting the historical and cultural values ​​of the relic, contributing to educating revolutionary traditions as well as exploiting the local tourism potential...
