In the future, Bac Lieu will be the name of a ward on the administrative boundary map of the new Ca Mau province. And forever in our hearts, the mark of Bac Lieu province cannot fade.
Bac Lieu's mark
“Bac ma yeu, Lieu ma da diet”, in the poem written for Bac Lieu with the title “Bac Lieu Improvisation”, journalist Huynh Dung Nhan separated the word Bac Lieu in his own way of metaphor to put into the poem. According to this way of word separation, he explains: the name Bac but the heart is not silver, but very passionate, Lieu but not swaying but on the contrary, very passionate.
That’s how literature is, poets can use metaphors, hyperbole, personify… all kinds of things to write poems. But there is one thing, the passionate love for Bac Lieu is there. People are just a passing stop, but the love and affection of those born and raised here keeps the two words “Bac Lieu” in the deepest memories of their hearts.
What is there to love about Bac Lieu?
Since the time our ancestors went to reclaim the land, the two words "Bac Lieu" were born, associated with the image of " Bac Lieu is a land of poverty/ Under the river there are goby fish, on the banks there are Trieu Chau fish ". Then through many separations and integrations, through many changes, but one thing cannot be denied, history with many ups and downs has created and preserved for Bac Lieu valuable heritages, creating a distinct mark.
Mentioning Bac Lieu, we immediately think of the Bac Lieu Prince's house, which has stood the test of time for more than a hundred years, reminding us of a famous rich young man named Ba Huy, associated with the once rich land of Bac Lieu, once the largest salt and rice granary in the six provinces of the South, a land of generosity and loyalty. Not far from the city center, the Bac Lieu Bird Garden nature reserve with its chirping birds in the early morning or at sunset also reminds us of the time when our ancestors reclaimed the land. The Xiem Can Pagoda silently faces the sea, creating a sacred, ancient beauty that attracts tourists all year round. The white salt fields and wind power fields running along the coast of Bac Lieu create beautiful images that attract everyone. And in the future, along with wind power, fishermen and salt workers can also do tourism , when plans for the future of the salt industry have been launched after the Vietnam Salt Festival - Bac Lieu 2025.

All are the things that remain after mentioning Bac Lieu...
