Continue to promote investment attraction

Identifying investment attraction as playing an important role in economic transformation and growth, Bac Lieu has focused on doing this work well and brought about encouraging results.

To date, the province has attracted investment in 209 projects (including 191 domestic projects with a total registered investment capital of VND 66,318 billion and 18 foreign projects with a total registered investment capital of USD 4.7 billion). At the same time, Bac Lieu is also continuing to do well in attracting and calling for investment in the province and promoting the implementation of Resolution 02 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to improve the business environment and enhance national competitiveness by 2025.

One of the areas that Bac Lieu focuses on attracting investment and is associated with the goal of transforming the economic structure towards green and sustainable growth is the development of renewable energy. In the province, there are currently 8 wind power projects in operation, with a total capacity of over 469MW. This is an important premise for Bac Lieu to become one of the clean energy centers of the country. That is also the goal of the province in the coming time as set out in the Resolution of the 16th Bac Lieu Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025.

Promoting these results, the province will continue to improve the investment and business environment, simplify and shorten the time to handle administrative procedures, create favorable conditions for enterprises and investors, and improve the ranking of the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI). Create favorable conditions for the private economy to develop sustainably; connect provincial enterprises with foreign enterprises; create conditions for private enterprises to link and produce supporting industries, especially in the agricultural food chain and renewable energy; pay attention to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises to start up and promptly remove difficulties and obstacles in production and business. Focus on developing the collective economy; pay attention to building a number of cooperatives associated with organizing agricultural production according to the value chain of key industries, meeting market demand...
