Over the years, Phu Ninh commune, Phu Ninh district, has focused on exploiting the potential and strengths of the locality; developing diverse rural industries to increase income and improve the quality of life for the people.
The oyster mushroom production model of Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Nham's household in Zone 5, Phu Ninh commune, has yielded high economic efficiency.
Taking advantage of its location bordering Viet Tri city and its convenient transportation system, the commune has encouraged residents to develop industrial and handicraft sectors. It has created favorable conditions for businesses needing to expand production, invest in equipment and machinery, and build workshops to diversify their industries and expand their product markets. Emphasis is placed on addressing and supporting businesses and production and trading establishments in resolving difficulties and obstacles in their operations. The management of construction planning and order in the area is also given attention.
Despite numerous difficulties, industrial and handicraft production in the commune has remained stable and achieved considerable growth through practical efforts. Production sectors are increasingly diverse, focusing on products with local potential and strengths, generating high economic value, such as: metalworking, aluminum and glass processing, carpentry, automobile and motorcycle repair, general merchandise, clothing, packaging, forestry seedling and ornamental plant business, etc. Currently, the commune has 474 households engaged in production and business in these fields, and 89 households involved in the production and business of forestry seedlings and ornamental plants.
In the field of trade and services, the commune implements measures to stimulate consumer demand; ensuring smooth circulation of goods to serve the needs of the people. Emphasis is placed on developing a synchronized trade network, creating conditions for businesses to form joint ventures and partnerships with individual households and product distributors; expanding forms of business, joint ventures, partnerships, and exchange of goods, especially construction materials, agricultural supplies, agricultural products, food, and essential necessities...
Simultaneously, the commune focuses on comprehensively developing the agricultural sector. Many key agricultural production programs have been implemented effectively. Scientific and technological advancements, new high-yield plant and animal varieties have been introduced into production, such as: cultivating gray oyster mushrooms, raising deer for antlers, raising hybrid chickens, etc. The irrigation system, canals, and internal field roads have been invested in comprehensively, contributing to the formation of concentrated production areas. The entire commune currently maintains a stable 160 hectares of rice cultivation and 110 hectares of various vegetable and crop cultivation. The value of production per hectare of cultivated land and aquaculture is estimated at 68 million VND. In addition, the commune pays attention to supporting individuals and organizations participating in the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) program; encouraging the establishment of new businesses and production and business households to participate in cooperation and linkages in production, processing, and consumption of products associated with building distinctive local products.
Comrade Khuat Van Quy - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: Thanks to the synchronized implementation of solutions in economic development, poverty reduction in the commune has made solid progress. To date, the average per capita income of the commune has reached 60 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate has decreased to 0.95%, and the near-poverty rate is 0.78%... The economic structure has shifted in a positive direction; the number of households with stable and relatively high incomes is increasing, contributing to changing the appearance of the commune into a modern and prosperous new rural area.
In the coming period, the commune will continue to create favorable conditions for businesses and households to invest in the development of diverse industrial and handicraft sectors linked with trade and services; effectively implement key programs in agricultural and forestry production; and continue to research and implement more sustainable poverty reduction solutions, using capital from programs and projects to support the people in developing and replicating economic models suitable to the local potential and advantages, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction.
