Accelerating towards the finish line of the first 20km of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway.

Despite challenging weather conditions, contractors are mobilizing maximum manpower and equipment to accelerate construction and complete the remaining components of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project.

On October 16th, Mr. Pham Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Agricultural and Transportation Projects in Khanh Hoa Province (the investor of component 1 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project), stated that the project's progress is meeting requirements. The first 20km of the route is expected to be completed by December 19th, 2025, as directed by the Prime Minister.

From May 2025 to the present, the unpredictable weather on the construction site, including sunshine and rain, has affected the construction progress, especially for packages 2 and 3. To overcome these difficulties, the investor has directed the contractor to concentrate machinery, equipment, and personnel to organize construction in "3 shifts, 4 teams" to meet the schedule.

Mr. Vu Huu Khoa, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Road Management and Construction Joint Stock Company, said that in construction package No. 1 (the first 22km of the route), there are 9 bridges that the company is responsible for constructing.

To date, the unit has basically completed 8 bridges, and the Song Cai bridge is expected to be completed in November this year, 3 months ahead of schedule. The contractor is making efforts to mobilize machinery and equipment to accelerate progress.

Department of Roads: Sets deadline for rest stop projects on North-South Expressway.(PLVN) - Faced with the situation of many rest stop projects on the Eastern North-South Expressway being behind schedule, the Department of Roads (Ministry of Construction) has issued a document requesting Project Management Boards, Road Management Zones, and investors to take decisive measures to accelerate construction progress.

Toll collection will begin on component projects of the North-South Expressway (Eastern section) from July 15th.The Vietnam Road Administration is currently installing equipment and coordinating with project management boards to complete the project and begin collecting tolls on some routes starting July 15, 2026.

Component Project 1 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway project has 3 construction packages; the total value of work completed to date is approximately VND 2,275 billion, reaching 62.86% of the contract value, exceeding the plan by 3.19%.

Besides construction package No. 1, which is 22km long and being constructed by Son Hai Group Co., Ltd., construction package No. 2 (10km in the middle of the route) is being implemented by the Phuong Nam - Bac Trung Nam - Dong Duong Joint Venture, and has so far reached 45.58% of the contract value; construction package No. 3 (construction of the Km30 bridge and the Cua Dong bridge) is being implemented by Truong Son Construction Corporation, and has so far reached 51% of the contract value.

Phase 1 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project has a total length of 117.5km, with 4 lanes and a roadbed width of 17m. Upon completion, it will shorten the distance from Khanh Hoa province to the administrative and political center of Dak Lak province from approximately 200km to 117km.
