The process of building and developing the digital economy helps localities, including Dong Nai city, to develop socio-economic aspects, enhance competitiveness, and promote digital transformation, science and technology, and innovation.

Digital transformation in production and consumption development.

Dong Nai , located in the Southern key economic region, has long been known as one of Vietnam's largest industrial centers. Currently, in response to the demands of integration and development, many businesses and factories in Dong Nai are focusing on applying digital transformation and Industry 4.0 technologies to management and modern production lines.

Nestlé is one of the top 10 foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises with the largest investment in Dong Nai province. It is a leading company in building a top-tier coffee production and processing chain nationwide and a pioneer in digital transformation, applying technology to local production.

In Dong Nai, the e-commerce market is expanding rapidly. Consumers in the city are increasingly interested in using digital technology to shop online. Notably, Dong Nai has consistently ranked among the top 10 localities nationwide in terms of e-commerce for many consecutive years.

Mr. Khuat Quang Hung, Deputy General Director in charge of External Relations and Communications of Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd., shared: "Digital transformation in production plays a crucial role for businesses today. Dong Nai has many advantages and potentials for developing modern and sustainable industries. The company expects that in the coming time, Dong Nai city will continue to promote the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, and have more programs to support businesses in developing digital transformation and applying technology to production."

In the context of a global economy rapidly shifting towards a knowledge- and technology-based growth model, science and technology, digital transformation, and innovation have become key drivers of productivity, quality, and competitiveness. One of the crucial solutions is to strengthen the connection between technology supply and demand, and to commercialize science and technology, digital transformation, and innovation products. This will contribute to the development of the digital economy at the local level.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien, representative of Iloka Technology Joint Stock Company (Long Khanh ward), said: The company started with a food delivery application model in his hometown. From Long Khanh, the company is nurturing bigger plans, ready to expand to other localities in Dong Nai, especially "super wards" such as Tran Bien and Tam Hiep... In addition, the company will also focus on promoting local specialty fruits and agricultural products on online platforms.

Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Regional Branch 2, Nguyen Duc Leinh: Promoting the development of digital banking in line with the orientation of digital economic development.

Innovation and creativity in the development of digital banking products by credit institutions in Dong Nai city, with many banks offering modern, convenient, safe, and secure payment products, not only contribute to expanding and improving the efficiency of cashless payments but also enhance the efficiency of capital utilization in the entire economy.

In particular, the convenience of digital banking products and services such as card services, electronic money transfers, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, QR code scanning, etc., has benefited people and businesses in the area. This has created momentum for expanding cashless payment activities and promoting the development of digital banking in line with the digital economy development orientation in Dong Nai.

Le Hung Nam, Director of Solutions at HPE Vietnam (headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City): A favorable platform for developing logistics, transportation, and digital technology.

Dong Nai possesses significant potential and advantages in developing smart cities and digital transformation, especially now that it has become a city. With its large industrial park system, strong ability to attract foreign direct investment, and strategic infrastructure advantages such as Long Thanh International Airport, Dong Nai has a favorable foundation for developing logistics, smart transportation, and digital technology.

In the coming period, Dong Nai needs to focus on training a workforce with sufficient capacity to access, operate, and effectively utilize technology platforms serving smart urban management, and promote the digital transformation process in the locality.

Enhancing competitiveness in the digital age.

Dong Nai focuses on extensive digital transformation in various sectors: processing and manufacturing industries (aiming for smart, high-productivity production), logistics and transportation infrastructure (smart logistics connecting border gates, ports, railways, etc.), high-tech agriculture, etc. In addition, the city is also promoting digital transformation in the development of smart cities, trade and services, finance and banking, and piloting low-level economic models. The city will also focus on building and sharing local open data repositories to support businesses in accessing data for innovation.

Dong Nai's goal is to increase the proportion of the digital economy to over 30% of its GRDP by 2030. A key breakthrough project is the completion and operation of the Long Thanh Concentrated Digital Technology Park, positioning Dong Nai as a regional data hub for data exchange and processing (Digital Hub). In the coming period, Dong Nai's science and technology sector will focus on attracting investment in strategic technologies such as semiconductors, green data centers, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud computing. In addition, the sector will promote the application of digital technology in production to create smart industrial parks and logistics centers.

Pham Van Trinh, Member of the City Party Committee and Director of the Department of Science and Technology.

Pham Van Trinh, member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee and Director of the Department of Science and Technology, shared: To create a solid foundation and elevate Dong Nai to the status of the 7th largest city in the country, the city's science and technology sector has identified the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as important drivers of growth and development model transformation in the coming period. In particular, the Long Thanh Digital Technology Park, the High-Tech Park, and the Innovation Zone associated with the Long Thanh Airport City will play the role of breakthrough "nuclei," positioning Dong Nai on the regional and global digital technology map.

Tran Thanh Nam, Director of Vietcombank's Dong Nai branch (Tran Bien ward), shared: Vietcombank's Dong Nai branch always defines its mission not only as providing financial services but also as accompanying partners in implementing the Government's digital transformation policy, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.

Many experts believe that Dong Nai has great potential and favorable conditions to attract investment in the digital economy. Developing the digital economy helps the locality develop socio-economic aspects, enhance competitiveness, and promote digital transformation, science and technology, and innovation.

Mr. Abraham Nguyen Quang Huy, Vice President of the National Startup Association and President of 9S UNION (Global Economic Union), commented: When Long Thanh International Airport becomes fully operational, Dong Nai City will not only have additional transportation infrastructure but also a new development space for aviation, logistics, technology, creative services, and startup models capable of regional and global connectivity. With many advantages and development foundations, the locality should focus on developing advantageous sectors such as: smart industry, logistics technology, environmental technology, high-tech agriculture, new materials, and digital transformation for manufacturing businesses. Simultaneously, Dong Nai needs to strongly develop data infrastructure, testing spaces, and centers to support the commercialization of technology…
