As the global manufacturing industry enters a period of profound transformation driven by the development of AI, automation and technological transformation, Vietnam has emerged as a strategic destination for international businesses seeking competitive manufacturing capabilities, flexible supply chains and a favorable investment environment.
According to data from the General Statistics Office, the index of industrial production (IIP) in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 7.8% over the same period last year, the highest increase in the past 5 years. In particular, the processing and manufacturing industry - the main pillar of industrial growth - recorded an impressive increase of 10.1%, continuing to lead the entire industry up.
Dr. Nguyen Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Automation Association, said that in order to maintain sustainable development momentum in an increasingly competitive environment, Vietnamese enterprises need to increase investment in technology, optimize operations and, most importantly, strengthen connections with the global production network. Along with that is the strong participation of the international business community, especially 12 pavilions from Germany, Italy, Korea, Japan, Thailand, China, Taiwan (China), contributing to promoting the connection of the global value chain.
