BTO-As of this morning (June 19), the Oriental Star ship arrived at Bai Phu - Phu Quy island (about 6 nautical miles northeast of shore) and handed over crewman Le Van Hung (SN 3, in Dong Hoa, Phu Yen) to the Phu Quy CKC Border Guard Station. Occupational health is normal.
Previously, according to information from Mr. Le Van An - captain of the Oriental Star, the ship was on its way from Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh went to the Philippines to return the goods as planned. When passing through the waters of Binh Thuan, one crew member was rescued alive in an area about 1 nautical miles from Phu Quy island to the north-east, the captain asked for instructions to hand over the rescued crew to the authorities according to regulations.
Through working with Mr. Hung, it is known that this worker is a crew member on the ship PY -95686, which fell into the sea while going to the toilet at 8 o'clock on June 18. After the accident, despite calling for help, the crew members were sleeping, the engine was noisy so no one heard.
Binh Thuan Port Authority said that after receiving the news, the unit contacted the captain of the Oriental Star ship (Vietnamese nationality) and instructed the ship to change direction to Phu Quy island area to facilitate the handover of the rescued crew.
