
Floodwaters damaged large areas of rice fields.
According to information from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, as of October 20th, nearly 252 hectares of rice, fruit trees, and vegetables in the province have been damaged. Of this, nearly 230 hectares of rice suffered 100% damage, 22 hectares suffered 50-60% damage; 19.5 hectares of fruit trees suffered 100% damage; 2.5 hectares of fruit trees suffered 40-50% damage; and 1.5 hectares of vegetables were completely destroyed.
Specifically, in Vinh Thanh commune, 37.5 hectares of rice fields were damaged (22.5 hectares completely destroyed, 15 hectares 50-60% damaged) and 17.5 hectares of fruit trees were damaged (15 hectares completely destroyed, 2.5 hectares 40-50% damaged). Khanh Hung commune had nearly 160 hectares damaged by approximately 60-70%. Tuyen Binh commune had 50 hectares damaged by 50-70%. Vinh Chau commune had 4.5 hectares of fruit trees; Moc Hoa commune had 1.5 hectares of vegetables completely destroyed.

In response to the situation, provincial leaders and the Department of Agriculture and Environment organized teams to coordinate with local authorities to inspect and assess the damage caused by rain and floods, urgently implement flood response plans, and prepare to mobilize local forces, equipment, and supplies to promptly handle the situation.
At the same time, inspect, review, and specifically identify the locations of vulnerable embankments and dikes at risk of failure; understand the number of households living in areas potentially affected by flooding, and the agricultural production area, in order to proactively implement timely response measures.
