The forum to connect businesses to invest and develop high-tech agricultural ecosystem in Tay Ninh province in 2023, held in Tay Ninh on June 2.6, has made a special impression on domestic and foreign investors. At the forum, the Provincial People's Committee signed a series of MOUs on cooperation with associations and businesses. In the coming time, there will be many hi-tech agricultural development projects in Tay Ninh.

Appreciating Tay Ninh's agricultural development potential, Mr. Gabor Fluit - President of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) said that European investors, Vietnamese businesses and policy makers gathered at the forum with the common goal of making Tay Ninh a sustainable agricultural export center.
According to Mr. Gabor Fluit, Tay Ninh province is trying to bring attractive investment opportunities in projects to develop agriculture, high-value crops, aquaculture, food processing and large-scale production. Mr. Gabor Fluit also noted that Tay Ninh should apply a comprehensive approach to adding processing value in the agricultural sector.
Adopting best practices in livestock production, improving financial solutions, and improving efficiency and productivity will help unlock untapped potential; and create new development opportunities for Tay Ninh province, and at the same time strengthen the relationship between businesses and farmers.
From the transformation potential of advanced agricultural farming methods, EuroCham with 1.300 members strongly believes in Tay Ninh's high-tech agricultural development potential.
Mr. Johan van den Ban - General Director of De Heus in Vietnam assessed that Tay Ninh province is a very large and important market of De Heus Group. Therefore, De Heus will strive for efficient production, not only providing eggs and breeding chickens, but also supporting farmers in Vietnam more. Mr. Johan van den Ban added that it is expected that by the end of 2023, De Heus Vietnam will put into operation a 14,8 million chicken breeder farm in Tan Hoi commune, Tan Chau district.
Mr. Vu Manh Hung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hung Nhon Group, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association (VIDA) said that this forum is an opportunity to meet and have dialogues between government agencies, policy makers, local leaders and domestic and international organizations, associations, experts and businesses on key issues in the strategy of agricultural development in Vietnam in general and in Tay Ninh in particular.
According to Mr. Hung, DHN hi-tech agriculture is a joint venture model with De Heus Group (the Netherlands, a member of EuroCham). The DHN joint venture between De Heus and Hung Nhon aims to achieve a capacity of about 2030 breeding pigs by 10.000 in the Central Highlands; 200.000 commercial sows in the Southeast, South Central and Central Highlands; 58 million breeder chickens and 25 million broiler chickens in Tay Ninh.
“From the success and experience gained in cooperation with businesses belonging to EuroCham, I wish to contribute to the agriculture of Vietnam in general and Tay Ninh in particular. Hopefully, through this connection, Tay Ninh will receive more international investors, especially businesses from Europe," Hung shared at the Forum.
In the coming time, Tay Ninh will have many livestock investment projects applying high technology.
Many useful comments
With very favorable natural conditions, Tay Ninh province has a lot of potential for high-value agricultural development. However, the reinvestment in agriculture is still limited due to fluctuations in output prices, epidemics, etc., increasing production costs according to standards (VietGAP, GlobalGAP...). Therefore, experts have contributed many ideas to turn Tay Ninh province into a sustainable agricultural export center.
Paul-Antoine Croize, Vice Chairman of EuroCham's Subcommittee on Food Business, Agriculture and Aquaculture, said that the "key" to solve the above problems is to accelerate the development of deep processing agriculture to get more value from agricultural output, while being able to be better protected from disease risks. In addition to meeting GlobalGAP standards, it is necessary to focus on developing market research and development (R&D), marketing abroad to meet international needs.
According to Jesper Clausen, Chairman of the Food, Agriculture and Aquaculture Subcommittee (FAABS) of EuroCham, state management agencies need to specify and monitor the actual benefits of using animal feed and its positive impact on increasing the sustainability of the agricultural sector. At the same time, better implement regulations and check antibiotic product labeling. Limit the use of drugs harmful to human health.
From another angle, Mr. Sergio Silva - Vice Chairman of Green Development Sub-Committee of EuroCham said that Tay Ninh has great potential in developing solar power thanks to the total sunshine hours of up to 2.600 hours/year.
Therefore, Mr. Sergio Silva suggested that the province should encourage the development of rooftop solar power, self-consumption and use of after-hours meters to transfer energy between companies, reduce costs and increase autonomy in production. In addition, Tay Ninh should focus on biomass energy to take advantage of the available local agricultural ecosystem.
Talking about solutions to attract investment, Mr. Gabor Fluit - Chairman of EuroCham hoped that Tay Ninh province would encourage the improvement of the business environment by creating more favorable conditions for businesses to set up and operate in the area. Streamlined administrative procedures, reducing the time and volume of administrative procedures that businesses have to deal with. In addition, the province needs to have tax transparency and tax reduction or subsidy policies, so that investors can easily access.

The first is a memorandum of understanding between the Provincial People's Committee, VIDA and EuroCham on the implementation of digital technology for agricultural products in Tay Ninh market. According to the agreement, VIDA supports connecting with departments, agencies and sectors in the field of agriculture to easily access information on local producers and agricultural products; EuroCham supports connecting domestic and foreign partners in the field of agriculture.
Provincial People's Committee, De Heus Group (Netherlands) and Hung Nhon Group signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in surveying, researching and investing in a number of hi-tech agricultural projects in Tay Ninh.
Accordingly, Hung Nhon plans to invest in building projects in the field of high-tech agriculture with a total investment of about 2.500 billion VND. The project includes items such as: a high-tech application of livestock complex, a high-tech agricultural cultivation area, a slaughterhouse and processing of livestock products, an area for raw materials for animal feed, and a breeding research center.
Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Provincial People's Committee and BAF Vietnam Agriculture Joint Stock Company in the implementation of the meat production and processing complex project in Tay Ninh province. The project has a total investment of 600 billion VND, with a capacity of 50.000 tons of meat per year.
And a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Provincial People's Committee and Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) in the implementation of the project of a complex of dairy factories and dairy farms in the province. The project has a total investment of 1.500 billion VND, including: a milk processing factory with a capacity of 36 million liters per year and the No. 2 dairy farm with a scale of 8.000 heads.
