Independence Day celebrations continue as workers on the North Expressway construction site.

During this year's September 2nd holiday, the North-South expressway construction site in Ha Tinh province was still bustling with machinery. Taking advantage of the last dry summer days before the rainy season, contractors simultaneously commenced construction to accelerate progress.

In package XL12 of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang component project, the contractor Xuan Truong has completed paving 8 km of C25 porous asphalt and 8 km of C19 layer asphalt on the main route of the project.

Worker Tran The Quang, who is constructing the porous asphalt concrete section of the route, said that the sunny weather is allowing the unit to speed up the construction of various sections of the route. Each day, the unit works three shifts from morning to evening. Workers take a quick lunch break and rest before returning to the construction site to carry out their tasks.

Worker Nguyen Cong An said that everyone wants to go home to their families on holidays, however, the project's progress is tight, so we have to work day and night to meet the deadline. During holidays, we receive extra money from the company as encouragement.

According to the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Project Management Board, 53 construction teams with a total of 750 vehicles and equipment are being maintained along the route to meet the production target. Currently, the project's construction output has reached approximately 55% of the contract value, with an average weekly output of about 80 billion VND, basically meeting the required progress.

The North-South Expressway project in the East, passing through Ha Tinh province, has a total length of 107.32km with 4 component projects: the Dien Chau - Bai Vot section (2017-2020 phase) and the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, and Vung Ang - Bung sections (2021-2025 phase).

The sound of machinery rumbles across the construction site of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway project. This is the crucial time for contractors to complete the roadbed paving before the rainy season arrives. Simultaneously, the contractor is working on the access roads, replacement roads, and traffic safety systems along the route.

At the construction site of the intersection of National Highway 12C in Ky Anh district, the contractor, Construction and Installation Company 368, is completing the final items in preparation for asphalt paving.

Vinaconex, which is responsible for constructing over 22km of the main route, 15 bridges, and 2 interchanges in package 11XL of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi section, has achieved 58% of the contract value to date, 5% faster than the signed contract.

"To motivate staff and workers to stay on the construction site during holidays, the company has a bonus system to boost morale. We aim to have approximately 70% of the road paved with asphalt by the end of 2024," a Vinaconex leader stated.
