At 75 years old, veteran Hua Thanh Giang, former Commander of the Military Command of Bac Kan province (formerly), woke up early to watch the parade and march commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd with his family. On the screen, the image of the well-ordered troops marching through Ba Dinh Square evoked in him and his comrades many heroic memories of a time of war.
Mr. Giang said emotionally: "Looking at the troops marching in the parade today, I feel like I'm seeing a part of my youth again. A feeling of pride and emotion wells up inside me. Our generation has dedicated ourselves, and now we only hope that the younger generation will follow in our footsteps, upholding independence and building a stronger and more prosperous country."
For veterans who lived through the years of war, the parade is not only a momentous event but also a journey back in time, reminding them of their comrades who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
That sacred atmosphere also permeated the family of veteran Bui Kien Thiet, in Gia Sang ward. From early morning, in their small house, family members and his comrades gathered to watch the commemoration ceremony live.
Mr. Thiet emotionally shared: "Today's joy is not only the happiness of a holiday but also a profound expression of gratitude to the generations of our forefathers who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of our country. Every time we witness the troops marching in parades and marches, my comrades and I become even more confident and proud in the strength of the Army and our nation."

Mr. Khang expressed: "My whole family is looking forward to watching the ceremony live on television. Sharing in the nationwide atmosphere, Duong Thanh Loan, a 10th-grade student at Bac Kan Specialized High School, couldn't hide her pride: "This is the first time I've watched such a grand military parade in person, and I'm very moved. I need to study and train harder so that I can contribute to building my homeland and country in the future."
