The only person who caused Cameron Young trouble on Sunday, May 3rd (US time), turned out to be… Cameron Young himself.
Young took a penalty stroke on the par-4 second hole after hitting the ball onto the fairway. Despite this, he still managed to save par.
That was the kind of week it was: Young was calm and almost unbeatable. He led alone from start to finish at the 2026 Cadillac Championship, finishing with a 68 (-4) for a total score of -19.

Young finished six strokes ahead of world number one Scottie Scheffler. This was one of the biggest margins of victory in the 2026 PGA Tour season.
"When the court is difficult, when the playing conditions are harsh, it actually makes me feel better mentally," Young shared.
With this victory – his second PGA Tour title of the season – Young earned $3.6 million (approximately 94 billion VND), out of a $20 million prize fund. This is the second largest prize money of his career. Previously, he earned $4.5 million when he won The Players Championship.
The more than 25mm of rain early Sunday morning caused the scheduled tee time to be delayed by two hours. The Blue Monster course was no longer the "monster" it usually is, as the surface softened considerably.
The average score for the first three rounds ranged from 71 to 71.6 strokes, while Sunday's round dropped to 69 strokes. In the three days prior, the par-4 18th hole had only seen a total of 9 birdies, but Sunday alone saw 12 birdies.

Scheffler finished second for the third consecutive time, after being just one stroke behind Rory McIlroy at The Masters and losing in a playoff to Matt Fitzpatrick at the RBC Heritage. The previous two times were close; this time not.
Simply put, Young was outstanding. Even the world number one golfer didn't have a real chance on Sunday.
Young said of the self-penalty situation on hole 2 that he didn't hesitate: "Your heart sinks when you see the ball move. But it moved. That's part of golf. Nobody could penalize me in that situation except myself."
Ben Griffin finished third with -12, while Si Woo Kim, Sepp Straka, and Adam Scott tied for fourth with -11.
