Many groundbreaking ideas
The "Innovative Startup" Festival, organized by the City Youth Union, the City Federation of Youth Associations, and the City Student Association in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology, saw a successful finalist in the "Innovative Startup Ideas - Light up your creativity" competition. The student group consisting of Nguyen Hung Nhat Duy, Phan Thi Quynh Nhu, Ngo Thi Thuy Trang, Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang, and Phan Le Thuy Trang (Da Nang University of Medical Technology) presented their project, "A series of menstrual pain relief products from peanut shells combined with personalized software."
The project involves developing a product line including gels and patches to relieve menstrual cramps, extracted from peanut shells—an environmentally friendly raw material—combined with personalized software.
Through the app, users receive usage suggestions tailored to their individual health conditions, cycles, and needs, thereby enhancing pain relief effectiveness and healthcare experience. Integrating physical products with a digital platform not only provides added value for customers but also makes the project more accessible to users, creating an advantage in communication and marketing activities through the app.
Meanwhile, the research project "Application of Deep Learning Techniques to Detect and Mitigate DNS Abuse on Websites" by authors Truong The Quoc Dung, Phung Anh Sang, Ton That Ron, Pham Van Nam, and Le Tang Phu Quy (students from the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology) won second prize at the 2025 "Student Scientific Research" competition. The project focuses on addressing the major current challenges in cybersecurity and the misuse of domain names (DNS abuse) for malicious activities such as gambling and redirection to fake websites.
The research team studied and applied deep learning models to analyze the characteristics of domain names, DNS, and website content, thereby building a system capable of automatically detecting anomalies early with higher accuracy than traditional methods.
Beyond simply discovering the problem, the study also proposes solutions to mitigate and prevent DNS abuse, contributing to the protection of website systems, user data, and enhancing cybersecurity.
Student Truong The Quoc Dung expressed his joy at participating in this beneficial science and technology playground. This is not only an opportunity to apply learned knowledge to practice but also a motivation for students to confidently pursue research in the future.
Supported by various activities
The festival included a workshop on supporting innovative startups with the theme "Ready for Challenges and Opportunities," covering four topics: the development of the city's innovative startup ecosystem in the period 2022-2025; orientation and development in the period 2026-2030; the current situation and solutions to improve access to capital from investment funds for businesses; and connecting the innovative startup ecosystem.

Student Le Thi Kim Thu (University of Foreign Languages, Da Nang University) shared: “The 'Innovative Entrepreneurship' Festival has given students more motivation to boldly nurture their ideas and gradually realize their creative passions. Not only do they gain access to knowledge and practical experience from experts, but the program also helps young people expand their networks, better understand the entrepreneurial journey, and orient their future development path.”
Participating in the OCOP product booth at the festival, the Thạnh Bình Commune Youth Union introduced typical products such as vối bud tea, turmeric starch, pepper, perilla tea, cereals, etc., attracting a large number of union members and young people to visit and learn more.
According to Tran Quoc Vu, Secretary of the Youth Union of the commune, the unit has regularly organized activities such as seminars, training courses, and startup coffee gatherings to create a space for young people to interact, learn from each other's experiences, and develop ideas for economic development. Today's event is not only an opportunity for the locality to promote its characteristic OCOP products but also contributes to connecting young people's products with the market, gradually increasing the value of agricultural products and promoting the startup movement at the grassroots level.
Secretary of the Da Nang Youth Union, Le Cong Hung, stated: “Da Nang is determined to implement a roadmap for the strong development of an innovative city model, promoting the knowledge economy and digital technology. To realize this strategic goal, we need a pioneering force that is constantly innovative, daring to think and act. That force is none other than the youth generation – with their dynamism, enthusiasm, and adaptability in the 4.0 era. The “Innovative Startup Festival” is an opportunity for Youth Union members, young people, and students to exchange, learn, and interact with innovative business ideas and models to enhance the spirit of entrepreneurship, innovation, and skill development in the new era.”
