Attending the program were Comrade Mai Le Loi, Chairman of the Trade Union of the Corporation, Vice Chairmen Pham Van Hai and Hoang Thi Thanh Huong, members of the Standing Committee, Executive Committee and trade union officials from various branches, along with 65 children of union members and employees of the Corporation's Trade Union.
In a joyful, touching, and loving atmosphere, the children enjoyed meaningful performances about children and family; participated in fun physical games and crossword puzzles with the encouragement and support of their parents, grandparents, and a large audience. Overcoming their insecurities, the children were confident and enthusiastic as they participated in the games and received gifts from the program organizers. Through the games, the children had the opportunity to express their love and connection with their parents, and received clearer explanations from the organizers about the nurturing efforts of their parents and grandparents and the love of everyone around them, thereby encouraging and motivating them and their families to strive for a better life.
Bui Thien Minh's grandfather shared this at the meeting.
“This is a truly meaningful program. We feel the care, sharing, and love of the Vietnam Maritime Corporation Trade Union, the grassroots trade unions, and all those attending today's program for underprivileged children like my grandson. I hope the Vietnam Maritime Corporation Trade Union will continue to maintain this program so that every Children's Day, the children can come to this loving gathering place again,” – Bui Thien Minh's grandfather (the grandson of Bui Viet Cuong, a trade union member of Quang Ninh Port) shared emotionally.
Comrade Mai Le Loi – Chairman of the Trade Union of Vietnam Maritime Corporation, delivered a speech.
Speaking at the program, Comrade Mai Le Loi – Chairman of the Trade Union of Vietnam Maritime Corporation – shared that the wish of all parents is to give birth to healthy, intelligent children and to see them grow up and mature. However, this very simple wish is a longing that some families of union members and workers cannot fulfill. The "Igniting the Heart" program was organized with the desire to meet more union members and their children, to share their difficulties and hardships, and to spread examples of resilience in overcoming adversity.
Comrade Mai Le Loi stated that this is the 15th year the Vietnam Maritime Corporation Trade Union has organized the program in the northern region. For other regions, due to geographical distance and transportation difficulties, the Corporation's Trade Union, together with the grassroots trade unions, visited and presented gifts to nearly 150 children. In addition to organizing the "Lighting the Flame of the Heart" program, since 2016, the Corporation's Trade Union has provided support of 1 million VND per child per month for children affected by dioxin poisoning; and 500,000 VND per child per month for children with congenital disabilities from disadvantaged backgrounds and those in particularly difficult circumstances.
Over the years, the annual "Lighting the Heart" program has become a place to express the love and compassion of the Corporation's Trade Union, its affiliated unions, and the staff and employees of various units to underprivileged children, and to share with colleagues who are overcoming adversity to build their lives. These small gifts, though modest, hold immense spiritual value, representing care, concern, and encouragement for the children of employees and union members. "Lighting the Heart" is not just a program, but also a meeting point to ignite the flame of love, compassion, responsibility, and connection.
