Important changes in agricultural land compensation

(QNgTV)- The 2024 Land Law has many important changes in regulations on compensation for agricultural land when the State reclaims it.

According to Clause 1, Article 146 of the 2024 Land Law, people whose land is recovered will be compensated by the State with land of the same purpose. In case there is no more land fund, people will be compensated in cash according to the specific land price at the time of recovery, instead of the fixed land price frame as before. The specific land price is determined according to the valuation method and based on the price list issued by the Provincial People's Committee, to ensure that it is close to the market price.

In addition to compensation for money or land, people can also receive support to stabilize their lives, produce, receive vocational training, and find jobs. However, not everyone is eligible for compensation. People who use land for the wrong purpose, do not have legal documents, abandon land for more than 24 months without reason, or whose land use period has expired without extension will not be compensated for land, but can receive support for investment costs and crops if they meet the conditions.
