What can we learn from the phenomenon of foreign stars' tickets selling out?

Charlie Puth's visit to Vietnam is part of his global tour, "The Charlie Live Experience." The Nha Trang show kicked off a series of performances across Asia, including Vietnam, Hong Kong (China), Bangkok (Thailand), Jakarta (Indonesia), Singapore, Tokyo (Japan), and Seoul (South Korea). The enthusiastic and passionate crowds who witnessed Charlie Puth's performance undoubtedly thrilled the event organizers, as it paved the way for the launch of live shows by foreign singers on Vietnamese stages.

This type of business has potential. Proof of this is the fact that many Vietnamese fans have been scrambling for tickets to see their idol Taylor Swift, even though her "The Eras Tour" live show is taking place in Singapore. With ticket prices ranging from 1.8 million to 6 million VND, Taylor Swift fans can listen to 44 songs. Of course, in addition to the ticket price, Vietnamese fans also have to spend money on travel to Singapore. Even so, the singer's fans are always ready to support her, because besides attending the concert, this trip is also seen as a vacation – a trend in event-based tourism that is currently gaining popularity.

The most intense activity recently has been the search for tickets to the "Born Pink World Tour" concert by the South Korean girl group Blackpink in Hanoi . Ticket prices, ranging from 3 million to 9.8 million VND per ticket, have shocked many. However, the ticket hunt continues, and the ticket resale market is just as vibrant as for the "The Eras Tour" live show.

This ticket frenzy also partly confirms the increasing demand for audiovisual and experiential content among Vietnamese audiences. Spending a lot of money on tickets is one thing, but the main point is that today's audience wants to experience truly high-quality content.

Now, the development of paid music streaming platforms, packed concerts, and physical albums like vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes constantly selling out in a short time shows that young audiences are more aware of and familiar with respecting copyright. This awareness among the audience is the foundation for building a complete music industry. This is also the basis for foreign stars to consider performing in Vietnam, replacing the hesitation they had in the past.

Bringing foreign stars to the Vietnamese stage is certainly not easy due to the many conditions and requirements imposed by partners. However, the enthusiasm of the audience and the mindset that the experience is worthwhile by spending money on tickets clearly show that the "star-related" business model is making a comeback after a long period of decline. How far this will go remains to be seen. Nevertheless, these events have brought much hope for the faster development of Vietnamese music.
