On May 31st, a video appeared on social media platform X showing behind-the-scenes moments of Jennie at the Chanel Métiers d'Art 2026 collection show in Seoul, South Korea, on May 26th.
As previously reported, the BlackPink member became the center of attention at the fashion show with a plunging neckline bodysuit paired with high-waisted wide-leg pants adorned with gold buttons, highlighting her alluring and elegant look.
In a newly shared video, Jennie is seen standing in front of a nanny car, having her collar adjusted by a man wearing glasses. Notably, the poster included the comment: "How could she allow a man to adjust her outfit when there's a whole group of women there? Is that appropriate?"
In just one day, the video garnered over 1.6 million views and thousands of likes. It quickly became a pretext for many to criticize and insult the female idol. They gave her nicknames such as "pick me girl" (internet slang for girls who try to appear special and different from the majority of women, with the aim of attracting attention or recognition from men) or "male-centered woman"...
Even BlackPink was dragged into the story, mocked as "the biggest culture vulture."
Following this attack, numerous fans spoke out in Jennie's defense. They pointed out that the male stylist was simply doing his job and there was nothing inappropriate in the viral video. Viewers also condemned the misogyny behind the harsh words directed at the owner of the hit song " Solo ."
Netizens commented: “He’s her gay stylist. Who cares if it’s a man or a woman, as long as she’s comfortable with it. It’s not something for haters to point fingers at,” “Many people act like Jennie committed some terrible crime. It’s crazy! They’re the ones who will never achieve gender equality in this society,” “It’s a job, it’s professionalism. Jennie and the man have no problem, only the nitpickers are abnormal,” “What’s wrong with these people? There’s nothing wrong with that video. If you think it’s wrong for a stylist to adjust an artist’s outfit, you’re the problem. They’re dissecting it like it’s some terrible quote…”
