To ensure transparency and facilitate participation for authors, the Organizing Committee of the 7th "Silent Sacrifice" Contest is publishing the full text of the contest rules. These rules serve as an important basis for individuals and groups of authors to study, prepare, and submit their entries in accordance with regulations.
The competition was organized with the goal of discovering and honoring exemplary medical professionals nationwide; and at the same time, spreading the humanitarian values, sense of responsibility, and silent sacrifices of medical staff in the cause of caring for and protecting the health of the people.

Below is the full text of the Rules for the 7th "Silent Sacrifice" Contest:
I. NAME OF THE COMPETITION, ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1. Competition Name: The 7th "Silent Sacrifice" Competition.
2. Competition Theme: Discovering and honoring the exemplary contributions and sacrifices of doctors across the country in the care and protection of people's health.
3. Eligible participants:
- Vietnamese citizens aged 18 and above who are living, studying, or working both domestically and abroad;
- Foreigners who are legally residing and working in Vietnam;
- Professional and non-professional authors, including reporters, contributors, healthcare professionals, and individuals interested in the field of public health care;
- Members of the Organizing Committee, the Judging Panel, and the Secretariat of the competition are not allowed to participate in the competition to ensure objectivity and transparency.

II. LAUNCH CEREMONY, AWARD CEREMONY, REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
1. Launch Ceremony and Award Ceremony
- The competition launch ceremony will be held on February 25, 2026 in Hanoi .
- The awards ceremony is tentatively scheduled to be held in February 2027 in Hanoi; the specific time and location will be officially announced by the Organizing Committee on the competition website.
2. Submission deadline
The Organizing Committee will accept entries from 09:00 on February 27, 2026 to 17:30 on November 30, 2026 (according to the system's time recorded on the competition website). After the above time, the system will automatically close and will not accept any more entries.
3. Submission format and address for artwork

- The Organizing Committee will only approve entries that comply with the regulations and have all required information fields completed.
III. CONTENT, CATEGORIES, AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE WORK
1. General requirements
- Works that have been published in print or online newspapers since the launch of the competition. For works that have not been published, the author or representative of the group of authors should submit them via the official website of the competition for the Organizing Committee to publish on the Health and Life online newspaper (suckhoedoisong.vn);
- The work must not be copied, must not infringe on copyright, and must not be subject to any copyright disputes;
- Each author may submit multiple works, but each work must ensure that it features an independent character or storyline;
- The characters in the submitted works must be real people with specific and clear names and addresses;
- Submitted works should be authentic, diverse, vivid, and creative; possess artistic quality in both content and form; have the power to spread and evoke positive emotions and thoughts in the community; and not violate Vietnamese customs, traditions, and laws.
2. Written works category
- Genre: Feature stories, essays, notes, character portraits, journalistic reports;
- Each work should not exceed 4,500 words; in the case of a multi-part work, a maximum of 3 parts may be written, and the total length of the entire work must not exceed the above-mentioned limit;
- Written works must ensure authenticity, present new discoveries, possess in-depth analysis, have widespread appeal, and the ability to inspire positive change in the community;
- The work focuses on exploring the depth of the story, the fate, and the contributions of the characters. The main themes include:
+ Exemplary medical professionals who have made numerous contributions and silent sacrifices in the fields of medical examination and treatment, disease prevention and control, preventive medicine, primary healthcare, and initial health care for the people;
+ The stories of healthcare professionals are rich in humanistic values, reflecting medical ethics, social responsibility, dedication, and the spirit of overcoming difficulties in remote areas, border regions, islands, and disadvantaged areas;
+ The role and contributions of healthcare professionals in implementing the major policies and guidelines of the Party and State on the development of the healthcare sector, improving the quality of healthcare services, and providing healthcare for all citizens in the new era.
3. Photo category
- Submitted photos can be in color or black and white;
- Each author may submit a maximum of 10 works (including both single photos and photo sets);
- Single photos: Each photo is a unique work of art and must not be a duplicate of any photo in a set submitted to the competition;
- Photo series: This is a work consisting of 5 to 8 photos, with a general introduction to the content; accompanied by an overall layout of the photo series. The author should number the photos from 1 to 8 and is encouraged to add captions to each photo (if any);
- Photographs must be created using realistic methods; manipulated or digitally altered images that distort the true nature of the event are not accepted.
- Images must be submitted as JPG files; the long side of the original file must be between 4,000 and 6,000 pixels; print quality must be guaranteed at 300 dpi resolution;
- Scanned photos, photos taken from printed materials, or photos with watermarks or logos that are not part of the image content are not accepted.
- The Organizing Committee reserves the right to request the original file for verification of authenticity when necessary.
IV. TIME AND PROCEDURE FOR GRADING EXAMS
1. Competition Rounds
The competition was held in two rounds:
- Preliminary Round: The Preliminary Judging Panel will evaluate the valid entries, selecting those with the highest scores in descending order to advance to the Final Round.
- Final Round: The Final Judging Panel will directly evaluate the entries that passed the Preliminary Round and select the winning entries according to the established criteria.
2. Scoring principles
- Judges score independently and objectively, and are responsible for their own scoring results;
- Each entry is scored by the average of the judges' scores;
- Works that do not meet the eligibility criteria will be disqualified before being judged or published;
- In the event that there are entries with equal scores at the end of the list, and the number of entries exceeds the number selected, the Final Judging Panel will notify the Organizing Committee of the competition. The decision of the Organizing Committee is final.
V. ORGANIZING COMMITTEE, SECRETARIAT AND JUDGING PANEL
The Organizing Committee; the Secretariat; the Preliminary Judging Panel and the Final Judging Panel of the competition were established by a Decision issued by the Health and Life Newspaper.
VI. AWARD STRUCTURE
1. Written works category
- 01 Grand Prize: 80,000,000 VND;
- 1st Prize: 50,000,000 VND;
- 2nd Prizes (2 winners): 30,000,000 VND;
- 3 Third Prizes: 10,000,000 VND;
- 5 Consolation Prizes: 5,000,000 VND;
- Other forms of rewards: Award certificate, 5 copies of the book "Silent Sacrifice," and one year's subscription to publications from the Health & Life Newspaper.
2. Photo category
- 1st Prize: 50,000,000 VND;
- 2nd Prizes (2 winners): 30,000,000 VND;
- 3 Third Prizes: 10,000,000 VND;
- 10 Consolation Prizes: 5,000,000 VND;
- Other forms of rewards: Award certificate, 5 copies of the book "Silent Sacrifice"; one year's subscription to publications of the Health & Life Newspaper and a certificate from the Organizing Committee; Certificate from the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.
VII. RESOLVING COMPLAINTS AND HANDLING VIOLATIONS
- Authors participating in the competition have the right to file a complaint if they discover any violations directly related to the competition. Complaints must include the full name and address. Anonymous complaints will not be considered. The maximum time for filing a complaint is 30 days from the date the list of winning authors or groups of authors is announced on the competition website. After this deadline, complaints will not be considered or resolved.
- The Organizing Committee reserves the right to adjust the competition rules if deemed necessary to ensure fairness and effectiveness. In case of adjustments to the rules, the Organizing Committee will announce them on the competition website.
- If a submitted work violates the Intellectual Property Law and other relevant State regulations and these Regulations, the Organizing Committee will revoke the award and notify the relevant authorities for resolution as prescribed. The author or representative of the participating group of authors shall be held responsible for any violations related to copyright or other legal regulations.
- For authors participating in the photo contest: In addition to the general regulations of the Contest, if the author is a member of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA), their title will not be considered, and they will not receive creative support in 2026; if the author is not a VAPA member, all their works will be disqualified, and they will not be considered for membership in 2026.
- The Organizing Committee has the right to use videos, articles, documents, and images submitted by authors or representatives of author groups for information and propaganda purposes on the press system and the Ministry of Health's portal.
