Three more suspected botulinum poisoning cases linked to eating Vietnamese pork sausage and fish sauce.

On May 20th, Dr. Le Quoc Hung, Head of the Department of Tropical Diseases at Cho Ray Hospital, stated that all three patients are from Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City), including two brothers aged 18 and 26, and the third is a 45-year-old man.

A patient is currently receiving treatment at Cho Ray Hospital.

According to initial information, on May 13th, two patients, who are brothers, ate Vietnamese pork sausage sandwiches. Then, on May 14th, they showed symptoms of digestive disorders, fatigue, headache, and dizziness. On May 15th, their symptoms worsened, including double vision and muscle pain, and they were admitted to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases. They were subsequently transferred to Cho Ray Hospital.

The third patient is a 45-year-old man who was transferred to Gia Dinh People's Hospital. He reported having eaten a type of fermented fish sauce that had been left for a long time.

Test results from Gia Dinh People's Hospital showed that the patient was poisoned by botulinum toxin originating from food.
