Over the years, trade unions at all levels in the province have actively campaigned and negotiated with enterprise leaders to sign and implement collective labor agreements. This has contributed to bringing many benefits in caring for the material and spiritual lives of workers, helping them feel secure and committed to working alongside their enterprises.

Practical benefits

Long Sinh Co., Ltd. (Suoi Dau Industrial Park) has over 140 employees, all of whom are union members. To create more benefits for employees, the union has encouraged the company's leadership to sign and implement a collective labor agreement with 3 articles and 18 provisions that are more favorable than those stipulated by law. Notable examples include: periodic salary increases in January every year; performance bonuses every six months; annual seniority bonuses; paid leave on Christmas Day; and company-funded travel expenses for 100% of employees. Annually, the union proactively reviews and proposes adjustments and additions to new benefits in subsequent agreements. The entire process of signing, implementing, and enforcing the agreement is conducted transparently, seriously, on time, and effectively. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Suong, Chairwoman of the company's Trade Union, stated: "The company's leadership, along with the trade union, has always proactively taken care of the lives of employees through practical and timely policies, ensuring their rights and improving their welfare. This care has helped employees stay committed to building a sustainable and thriving enterprise. In 2024, the unit's revenue reached over 500 billion VND."

Similarly, over the years, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Khanh Hoa Salangane Nest State-owned Limited Company has skillfully persuaded and negotiated with the company's leadership to sign and implement a collective labor agreement with 8 chapters and 34 articles, benefiting more than 5,300 employees. Of these, 100% of employees have signed labor contracts and are guaranteed full benefits and insurance as prescribed. Employees receive annual health check-ups. Direct workers are provided with appropriate personal protective equipment. Employees working in units far from the city center and working in shifts are provided with transportation, dormitory housing for rest, a standard collective canteen, and a meal allowance of 30,000 VND per person per shift…

To contribute to improving the material and spiritual lives of union members and employees, the grassroots trade union of Khanh Hoa Salt Joint Stock Company negotiated with the company's leadership to sign a collective labor agreement with 3 articles and 13 beneficial provisions. Mr. Ngo Xuan Quang - Chairman of the company's trade union shared: “The articles and clauses we persuaded the company to sign and implement are all outside the legal regulations regarding rewards, holiday bonuses, 13th-month salary, sick leave allowance, bereavement leave, gifts for female employees and employees' children on holidays… The contents are seriously implemented by the company and adjusted annually to suit the reality, thereby creating a strong bond between employees, the company, and the trade union.”

Actively campaigning and negotiating to sign agreements.

According to Mr. Phan Thanh Liem, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Union, in recent times, labor unions at all levels have intensified propaganda, mobilization, explanation, and negotiation with employers to sign and implement collective labor agreements. To date, 486 enterprises have established grassroots labor unions and signed and implemented collective labor agreements, reaching 87.5%. Assessment shows that 54 agreements are rated A, 142 are rated B, and the remainder are rated C and D. The quality of these agreements is increasingly improving, aiming to create more benefits for union members and workers, such as: increased wages, income, allowances, subsidies, bonuses, housing support, meal allowances, paid leave, etc.

In addition, every year, trade unions at all levels conduct surveys to understand the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers in order to propose that businesses amend and supplement outdated provisions; they also coordinate the organization of employee conferences and quarterly dialogues to listen to workers' suggestions and promptly adjust issues for the common good. Thanks to this, the welfare of workers has been improved, creating peace of mind and trust among workers, and building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations within businesses. Not only have grassroots trade unions in units and businesses been actively involved in promoting collective bargaining agreements, but in recent years, industry-level and district-level trade unions have also been flexible and creative in encouraging units and businesses to sign group collective bargaining agreements. For example, the Nha Trang City Federation of Labor has signed collective bargaining agreements with 7 private kindergartens, creating additional benefits for 120 workers…

However, some businesses have yet to sign collective labor agreements due to concerns about being bound by responsibilities to employees. Therefore, in the coming time, trade unions at all levels in the province will strengthen efforts to persuade and negotiate with businesses to recognize the benefits of collective labor agreements and sign them; focusing on training and improving negotiation skills for trade union officials. At the same time, they will closely coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect, monitor, and require businesses to sign and implement collective labor agreements, ensuring the rights of employees…
