The Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway project connects the two provinces of Lang Son and Cao Bang , with a total length of 121 km. Phase 1 (93.35 km) has a total investment of 14.3 trillion VND.
High-quality prestressed steel cables (PC Strand) with diameters of ɸ 12.7mm and ɸ 15.24mm from Hoa Phat will be used for the bridge girders of the Dong Dang – Tra Linh expressway. To be approved for the project, Hoa Phat's high-strength prestressed steel had to meet the stringent standards of the Project Management Board, the investor, the supervising consultant, and the construction contractor. Test samples taken at Hoa Phat Prestressed Steel Co., Ltd., Dung Quat Economic Zone, passed the initial mechanical property tests and the 1000-hour stress relaxation test, achieving quality certification according to the American ASTM A416 standard.
The outstanding feature of Hoa Phat PC Strand steel is its high tensile strength, with stable and uniform stress relaxation and elongation control. This characteristic helps reduce stress loss during operation and increases load-bearing capacity over time, earning it higher ratings from design and construction consultants compared to imported products from China, Thailand, or Malaysia, etc.

Hoa Phat prestressed steel has advantages in goods supply and transportation, contributing to accelerating key projects and supporting contractors in achieving the goal of completing 3,000km of the North-South expressway and its expansion phase by 2025, as directed by the Prime Minister.
