In the first six months of the year, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, the GRDP growth rate of the provinces in the Southwestern provinces' emulation cluster all increased, exceeding that of the same period last year.
Specifically, the GRDP growth rate of the provinces in the cluster averaged 6.38%, 0.73% higher than the same period in 2023. Among them, Tra Vinh grew by 10.27%, ranking first in the Mekong Delta region and sixth nationwide; Hau Giang 8.04%; Ca Mau 6.96%, Kien Giang 6.84%, and An Giang 6.60%.
The total budget revenue for the entire cluster is estimated at over 55,700 billion VND. The provinces of Tien Giang, Long An, Vinh Long , An Giang, and Ben Tre have achieved more than 50% of their annual budget revenue targets.

The emulation movement among the provinces in the cluster is implemented with specific content and criteria, closely adhering to local political tasks, and linked to the timely identification, selection, and commendation of exemplary models, collectives, households, and individuals with outstanding achievements, creating a ripple effect, motivating and inspiring creativity in labor and learning.
Outstanding activities, models, and exemplary examples include An Giang province launching a movement to emulate the examples of President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang in caring for the people's lives. Sixteen exemplary individuals were selected, and an exchange of experiences between these exemplary individuals was broadcast live on An Giang Radio and Television.
Dong Thap province is implementing a campaign to promote the sending of workers abroad for fixed-term employment. The province organized 7 job fairs, with 140 businesses participating and 2,587 workers and students attending. To date, the province has sent 21,675 workers, achieving 72.25% of the annual plan, including 1,243 workers who have already departed for overseas employment under contract.
In early 2024, the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province launched a campaign titled "Tra Vinh completes the task of building new rural areas before 2025". Through this campaign, the province now has 9 out of 9 district-level units meeting the standards and completing the task of building new rural areas, and 2 districts achieving advanced new rural area standards. Currently, Tra Vinh province has basically completed all 8 out of 8 aspects of the task of building new rural areas.

At the conference, representatives from the Ca Mau provincial leadership presented papers sharing experiences on implementing effective patriotic emulation movements such as: "Emulating the implementation of national target programs in Ca Mau province"; "Improving the efficiency of using online public services in the province"; and the "Ca Mau - Destination 2024" program.
These movements have contributed to boosting total social investment in Ca Mau province by 9.3% compared to the same period last year; total state budget revenue is estimated at 3,010 billion VND, reaching 56.4% of the projected target and increasing by 12.9% compared to the same period last year.
Representatives from Bac Lieu province shared their experience in sustainably improving the PAPI index. This province has consistently ranked among the top in the country for three consecutive years in the Public Administration and Governance Performance Index.
In the coming period, the provinces in the Emulation Cluster will continue to organize and direct the effective implementation of patriotic emulation movements and the political tasks, targets, and plans assigned by the Government, as well as resolutions of the Provincial People's Councils on socio-economic development.
