Labor production competition

In the first 6 months of the year, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, the economic growth rate of GRDP of the provinces in the Southwestern Provinces Emulation Cluster all increased, exceeding the same period.

Specifically, the GRDP economic growth of the provinces in the Cluster increased by an average of 6.38%, 0.73% higher than the same period in 2023. Of which, Tra Vinh grew by 10.27%, ranking first in the Mekong Delta region and 6th in the country; Hau Giang 8.04%; Ca Mau 6.96%, Kien Giang 6.84%, An Giang 6.60%.

The total budget revenue of the entire cluster is estimated at over 55,700 billion VND. The provinces of Tien Giang, Long An, Vinh Long, An Giang and Ben Tre have achieved over 50% of the annual plan in budget revenue.

The emulation movement of the provinces in the Cluster is deployed with specific content and criteria, closely following local political tasks, associated with the timely discovery, selection and commendation of models, collectives, households and individuals with outstanding achievements, creating a spreading effect, encouraging and arousing the spirit of creativity in work and study.

Outstanding activities, models, and typical examples such as An Giang province launching an emulation movement to study and follow the example of Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton in caring for people's lives. Organizing the selection of 16 typical examples, exchanging typical examples were broadcast live on An Giang Radio and Television.

Dong Thap province has implemented a competitive movement to send workers to work abroad for a limited period of time according to the labor term. The province has organized 7 job fairs, with 140 enterprises participating and 2,587 workers and students attending. Up to now, the whole province has 21,675 workers, reaching 72.25% of the yearly plan, of which 1,243 workers have gone abroad to work under contract.

In early 2024, the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province launched the emulation campaign "Tra Vinh completes the task of building new rural areas before 2025". Through the implementation of the movement, up to now, the province has 9/9 district-level units meeting the standards and completing the task of building new rural areas, 2 districts meeting the advanced new rural standards. Currently, Tra Vinh province has basically completed 8/8 contents to complete the task of building new rural areas.

Young people from Tra Vinh and Ben Tre provinces were recruited and will work under fixed-term contracts in Japan.

At the conference, representatives of Ca Mau province's leaders shared experiences in implementing effective patriotic emulation movements such as: "Emulation to implement national target programs in Ca Mau province"; "Improving the efficiency of using online public services in the province"; "Ca Mau - Destination 2024" program.

These movements have contributed to boosting the total social investment capital of Ca Mau province to increase by 9.3% over the same period; total state budget revenue is estimated at VND 3,010 billion, reaching 56.4% of the estimate and increasing by 12.9% over the same period.

Representatives of Bac Lieu province shared experiences on sustainable improvement of PAPI index. This is a locality that has been in the top of the country for 3 consecutive years in terms of Governance and Public Administration Performance Index.

In the coming time, the provinces in the Emulation Cluster will continue to organize and direct the implementation of patriotic emulation movements and political tasks, targets, plans of the Government, and resolutions of the Provincial People's Council on socio-economic development.
