At noon on May 31st, more than 123,000 students in Hanoi completed the Mathematics exam, concluding the entrance exam for 10th grade in non-specialized public high schools for the 2026-2027 school year. At many examination centers, candidates emerged from the examination rooms in a relaxed mood after completing the three subjects. Groups of students took the opportunity to exchange answers, share their feelings about the exam, and predict their results. Hoang Phuong Mai (wearing a black shirt), a student from Truc Son Secondary School, said: "The exam was of average difficulty, not too hard. I answered all the questions and predict I can get at least 7.5 points." Dang Thi Hau, a student from Dai Yen Secondary School, commented that the exam was of moderate difficulty, but some questions required more time to think about and she was unsure of the answers. Despite this, Hau remained quite confident and predicted her score would be around 8 to 8.5 points.
Outside the examination centers, many parents couldn't hide their relief as their children finished their last exam. After two days of accompanying their children during this important exam, many parents said that the pressure had significantly decreased now that their children had completed the race to enter public high school. Seeing their child emerge looking relaxed, the parents smiled, inquired about the exam results, and encouraged them to rest after months of intense studying.
According to parents, regardless of the results, the fact that their children passed the exam after months of intensive preparation is a significant milestone. The pressure of the entrance exam for public high schools left many candidates unable to hide their emotions after finishing the last exam. Parents encourage their children after the exams are over.
According to the plan, candidates applying for admission to specialized 10th-grade classes will continue to take the specialized subject exams on June 1st.
Between June 19th and 22nd, Hanoi is expected to announce the 10th grade exam results on the Department of Education and Training's electronic portal and the city's primary school enrollment portal.
