According to a study published in Nature, Gert-Jan Oskam, a 40-year-old Dutchman paralyzed in a bicycle accident 12 years ago, had an electronic device implanted in his brain. When he thinks about walking, signals are sent to his legs via a second implant in his spine, enabling him to walk again.
