Air conditioning technicians are in season.

Although air conditioner repair, installation, and maintenance jobs offer high income, they provide little time for rest. During peak heat waves, technicians often work more than 12 hours a day.

For the past two weeks, the Dien May Xanh store has been selling 5-10 air conditioners per day. Nguyen Vi Toan (from Thanh Phu commune), who just bought a new air conditioner at the Dien May Xanh store, said: “My old air conditioner was broken. During this time, electronics supermarkets in the district have many promotional programs, including free installation, so I decided to buy a new one. However, due to the large number of customers at the supermarket, I had to wait a whole day for the installation to be completed.”

Not only are electronics supermarkets experiencing high demand, but air conditioner installation and repair services are also working at full capacity. Nguyen Tan Phat, owner of Thanh Phat Refrigeration (Thanh Duc commune), said: “For the past month, the demand for air conditioner repair has increased significantly, so the workload has also risen considerably. I’ve had to assign extra staff. The number of customers this year has doubled compared to last year, so all the technicians are working at full capacity.”

During the hot season, work is abundant, and the income of air conditioning technicians is quite high. Typically, the fee for maintenance and new installation of an air conditioner ranges from 300,000 to 400,000 VND depending on the unit's capacity, with an additional 150,000 to 300,000 VND for refrigerant refills, and 200,000 to 500,000 VND for repairs depending on the fault. On average, an air conditioning technician earns about 1.5-2 million VND per day, with a monthly income of around 40 million VND. However, this income level only lasts for the three peak months of hot weather.

The job of repairing, installing, and maintaining air conditioners, while offering a high income, leaves little time for rest. During peak heat waves, it's common for technicians to work more than 12 hours a day. According to air conditioning technicians, this profession also carries many risks due to the frequent need to climb to high places to work in temperatures that can reach 40°C. Therefore, the high income of air conditioning technicians is well-deserved.
