Accordingly, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will come with a 48MP main sensor, using a new Sony lens instead of the old lens found on the iPhone 14 Pro. Meanwhile, the two high-end versions, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, boast significant upgrades.
Specifically, the standard iPhone 15 models will feature a 48MP main sensor, but not the same 48MP sensor found in the current iPhone 14 Pro. Instead, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be equipped with a new Sony sensor featuring a stacked design, improving processing capabilities and enhancing image quality in low-light conditions.
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus both feature a camera system that includes a 48MP main sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and a 12MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.4 aperture.
According to reports, the iPhone 15 Pro will still use the same 48MP main sensor as the current iPhone 14 Pro, but will be equipped with a new, improved ultra-wide-angle camera.
Thus, the iPhone 15 Pro will feature a camera system including a 48MP main sensor, f/1.8, Sony IMX803 1/1.3-inch; a 12.7MP telephoto lens, f/2.8; and a 13.4MP ultrawide lens, f/2.2.
Finally, the top-of-the-line model – the iPhone 15 Pro Max – will have the same main and ultrawide sensors as the "Pro" model. But the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the first iPhone from Apple to feature a periscope lens, with zoom capabilities ranging from 5x to 10x.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the exclusive version with a periscope lens. Additionally, the flagship's camera system will feature a 48MP main sensor, f/1.8, Sony IMX803 1/1.3-inch; a 12.7MP telephoto lens, f/2.8; and a 13.4MP ultrawide lens, f/2.2.
