Vung Ang - Bung expressway section opens to traffic on August 28

(Chinhphu.vn) - Project Management Board 6 - Ministry of Construction (investor) has just issued press information about the exploitation time of the North - South expressway, Vung Ang - Bung section from August 28, 2025.

Vehicles are exploited on the route from the North connecting with the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway (distance about Km568+200) to the South connecting with the Bung - Van Ninh expressway (distance about Km625+000), length of more than 55 km.

On the route, vehicles will pass through 2/2 intersections, including: Tien Chau - Van Hoa intersection (about Km597+900) and QL12A intersection (about Km605+500).

The rest stop at Km594+400 (located on both sides of the highway) has been selected by the Ministry of Construction in March 2025 and is being built according to regulations.

The Ministry of Construction is directing Project Management Board 6 to urgently complete the remaining items of the Vung Ang - Bung expressway project, including: the frontage road system; ITS and other works.

The North-South expressway project, Vung Ang - Bung section, started construction in January 2023 with a total length of more than 55 km and a total investment of more than 12,500 billion VND.

The starting point is at Km658+200, in Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province (now Ky Hoa commune, Ha Tinh province) connecting with the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway. The ending point is at about Km624+228.79 in Cu Nam commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province (now Bo Trach commune, Quang Tri province) connecting with the Bung - Van Ninh expressway.

In the divergence phase, the expressway is invested with a scale of 4 lanes, roadbed width of 17m, design speed of 80 km/h.
