Over the years, the Tax Department has been one of the leading units in digital transformation. This achievement is largely due to the significant contributions of the unit's youth. Leveraging the pioneering spirit of youth, upholding exemplary conduct, and constantly innovating, Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet advised, proposed, and directed the establishment of 8 volunteer teams under the "Pink Holiday" program, operating "Volunteer Saturday" activities at 8 affiliated youth branches to support and accompany businesses, organizations, and individuals in electronic tax filing, registering electronic tax transaction accounts for individuals, etc. At the same time, he actively reformed and modernized the tax system, simplified tax administrative procedures, maintained electronic tax declaration, payment, and refund services, and electronic invoices; ensuring a smooth 24/7 IT system to support taxpayers in fulfilling their obligations to the state budget from registration, declaration, payment, and refund electronically without needing to visit tax offices in person, thus reducing processing time.
In particular, Mr. Viet, along with the Youth Union, proactively established a Steering Committee for Digital Transformation, chaired by the Youth Union Secretary. The Steering Committee proposed that the local branches establish digital technology teams to coordinate with commercial banks to support individuals and businesses in installing and using Etax Mobile. As a result, Digital technology teams have assisted over 3,000 households and businesses in installing and using Etax Mobile.
Viet also pioneered in exploring, researching, and proposing ideas and initiatives to improve work processes, thereby excelling in his professional duties. He demonstrated the pioneering spirit of youth, contributing to building a strong unit. Many of his initiatives have been applied in practice, bringing practical results and strengthening management. These include: solutions to improve tax management efficiency in the context of implementing e-taxation, aiming to increase taxpayer satisfaction; solutions to combat budget revenue losses in personal income tax management through IT applications; and improving the efficiency of tax management in checking, comparing, and verifying electronic invoices as stipulated in Government Decree No. 123/2020/ND-CP...
As the Youth Union Secretary, Viet not only sets a good example and takes the lead in professional and organizational activities for Youth Union members to learn from and emulate, but he also always stays close to them, understanding their thoughts, feelings, and aspirations to promote, mobilize, and innovate the content and methods of activities, making Youth Union activities richer, more meaningful, and more widespread.
Bearing in mind President Ho Chi Minh's teachings to young people, "You must not be afraid of hardship, not be afraid of difficulties, wherever youth are needed, youth will be there; whatever is difficult, youth will overcome it," he actively organized, participated in, and directed the implementation of many emulation movements, contributing to affirming the responsibility of youth in building the homeland, volunteering for community life, and fulfilling the mission of young people in the unit's tasks.
As an active, enthusiastic, and approachable youth union official, he is always concerned about how to attract young people to the Youth Union and develop its activities within the unit. Drawing on his practical experience, Mr. Viet has contributed many excellent, practical, and effective initiatives that are not only relevant to the unit 's situation but also align with the current development trends of youth union members, helping the Youth Union's work to make a greater impact and spread throughout the community. In 2024 alone, Mr. Viet participated in mobilizing over 330 million VND to complete six youth projects: a community sports field for the people of Quang Duc commune ( Hai Ha district); a reading room "For Our Beloved Younger Siblings" in Binh Lieu district; and a welcome gate to the Dong Vang village cultural center (Son Duong commune, Ha Long city)... He directly participated in and encouraged the unit's youth union members to contribute. Participating in voluntary blood donation, contributing more than 20 units of blood annually; donating maps of Vietnam; assisting with administrative procedures at levels 3 and 4...
